Congrats mel_mox. The pics on your blog look great. I love your colours and the timber floor colour. I may be wrong but the flooring looks like the colour of Kempas or Merbau. Well done!

We are rapt with our house. Absolutely just the way we imagined.
Floors are tassie oak actually! They look darker don't they! I'm rapt with them

Those pics were a great help to see what you meant. I will give it a shot, and see what my BC days but I don't like my chances. It may just be me, but it doesn't feel like they try very hard to give you what you want.

Range hood - blanco brc90bx 90cm

Just checked the oven on the product website - not great
Common problems with the seals and the door hinges
Most have issues shortly after the warranty period...

Looks like I will be replacing sooner than later..

Yeah I know!! Oh well!! But better than others some builders put in. I'm wondering how long I'll last with the dishawaser! In my current rental I have omega, hate it! At my last house I renovated I installed Bosch appliances. Loved my bosh dishwasher. Really miss it lol

Great timber colour. I wanted to go Kempas which actually looks a similar colour to the picture you took of the tasmania oak. Hubby did like Kempas but preferred spotted gum as it's more hard wearing. I had to give in somewhere....lol. I picked a lot of things that I liked and he was happy with my choices/changes.

has anyone on this blog upgraded their slab from M Class to P Class, do you end up with concrete in the alfresco or is it still dirt!

I don't know if this is relevant, but to give you and insight in cost if you want/need to pay for concrete in the alfresco. We had an M Class (not P class) and paid an extra $2750 for PD to put concrete in the Alfresco. I would assume the cost of the concrete would differ depending on the size of the Alfresco and we only paid $564 to concrete the portico. It was worth it to do it now then after handover and it forms part of the slab instead of an add on which it would have been after handover.

I have no idea if the P Class already comes with concrete in the alfresco, sorry.

I have a P class slab but no alfresco... ::sad::

The upgrade from M to P is not cheap - might be better off leaving out slab and decking the area

I have a bosch currently in the rental and its fantastic. Will be replacing the blancos with Bosch as soon as they start showing issues.

Hmm.. Is it a lifestyle thing? Prestige get the concrete, I kinda wished we didnt, wouldnt make my deck easier to build. :lol:

Hubby went past the house last night. Mortar is splashed over the window(s) and our front door is damaged. Someone has broken one of the glass panels. :evil:

Don't know if it was accidentally smashed by a worker, kids throwing rocks or someone trying to break in. I know we won't have to pay to fix it, but PD should have just put up a builders door until just before handover.

On a good note, plaster has started to go up. :z:

I will past this afternoon to investigate and take pics and post them on this site.

Mine varies quite a bit. Originally send an email, and have to send a follow up email a week later to get any sort of response. I had a bit of a whinge about it and things have gotten better, now it's probably one full day on average to get a response. This doesn't mean that my questions are answered, or even addressed at all, but at least it's a start!

I don't know what's up with all these people raving on about their BC's.

I'm pretty sure my BC's job mandate is something like this;
-take a week to answer your emails

-say no to any requests

-don't offer any help or advice

-if there is an issue with a customers selections or plans - don't tell them, just take it out and let them find out it's no longer there when they are under pressure signing their contract

-tell ****** to get customers off your back (eg 'the overhead cupboards aren't in your plan as your soil test hasn't been done yet, these will be added after the soil test when your drawings are done' - come contract when asked about why they still weren't there 'oh they don't fit' my sales rep, who seemed to know what he was talking about, said they would be able to do them, just maybe instead of 2 double cupboards, they may need to do one double and one single or something like that)

-don't try to offer any alternative solutions eg our niches, just wait until we see they aren't in the contract, and then say 'oh you can't have them you should have been told this at sales' umm no it was in our sales quote, and it's in the display homes, and picked special tiles for the niches at our tiles appointment, clearly shown on our tiles selections.

Argh! Anyway, I will stop whinging, it doesn't help! I just get frustrated when I see people talk about how great their BC's are and wonder if ours is just bad with us, or all of her customers.

My BC has been superb to date. Usually responds within about 30 mins to my emails. Even if that is to acknowledge it has been received - so reassuring.

Bet I have the same BC as humble!!
