Did you notice next door to yours is a double story home? hopefully you will still have privacy in the yard

Yes we noticed, I will be planting a lot of screening trees to start with. Hopefully they will not be able to see much of the yard since most of it is on the other side of our house and at the far rear and they seem to be a bit shorter on the block than we will be. I know that they are not to have windows that allow views into others gardens like that or they will have to change them and I will pursue it if it is an issue.

I just hope its the only two story on our fenceline. We asked when we were buying and was told that they didnt think that two storey houses would be built in the area but then you cant say what anyone will build.

. I noticed Simonds really got the jump on. I think it makes a difference if you have several homes going in. I havent heard of any other Henley homes out there yet. .

Went to see our dirt yesterday and was surprised at the pace Simonds are building in the area. Our slabs laid so we r not too far behind

Great work baronx! Nice to see all was resolved with your eaves too!
We are hoping to get all bank work finalized today. Bankwest sure take their sweet a$s time to organise finance.

Are you going through a broker or straight with the bank ? We initially applied via a broker, but after getting nowhere for 3 month we went straight to the bank and everything was sorted in a month.

Broker. He's been awesome although away on holidays but still corresponding with us to push things through. He said hopefully we get some news from them today.. Just getting impatient.. I wanna have a slab like you guys too lol

Don't stress much, try NAB they have been really helpful to me and the valuation was on par as well. Let me know if you need a contact person.

The land got titled today and we have already signed the build contract so, expect to start building sometime next week.

I am keen to see a house get started on the block on the other side of ours. It would be nice to move in and have a house on both sides done as well.
It really is beginning to look like a street on one side now.

Hey lacasa, no news just yet. Our broker is going to bust some chops this morning! If not im going to bust his chops!
I just hate waiting.

It's taking the fun and excitement out right now and putting us off planning other things like the wedding and we're only 5 months away. Luckily for us our builders have been so patient, they just said they are ready to build as soon as we say go.

Anyhoo, am praying for some good news today

Oh which block went up for resale? Hopefully next door will start building soon..
Our neighbours have started building too.

i am from stage 7, and we have the corner block, our house is under construction, and we went to the site on the weekend, just saw that the builder put the electricity meter box on my front porch wall!
OMG, the box is huge and this make my facade look so bad! i contacted our builder of urbanedge today, and they told me that they could not change to the side of the house because this is actually heartland developer's guideline for the location of the electricity meter box for corner block. but i couldn't see in the contract! does anyone know about this guideline?

Hi mxu7.. I don't remember reading anything about meter boxes in the estate design guidelines, these are written at the end of your land contract.
Also, refer to your construction drawings to check if the location of the meter box is as per the drawings.

Hi mxu7.. I don't remember reading anything about meter boxes in the estate design guidelines, these are written at the end of your land contract.
Also, refer to your construction drawings to check if the location of the meter box is as per the drawings.

i pulled out all my contract plans and the meter box in the contract plan is sitting on the side of the house! but but the strange thing is i saw the building permit plan, it is changed to locate on the porch!! Oh, noooooo.. how did this happen without me knowing it!! i thought builder must use the contract drawing plan to apply for the building permit from the council, how could they change the plan without me knowing and use the different plan from the contract to apply council permit???
i did signed the building permit paper without go through each page again, i would never thought the building permit drawing would be different from the contract drawing!!

That's the reason why you need to check every single line on the drawings every time they give you a new revision. I had the same issue; the construction drawings were different to the contract drawings, but then I didn't sign the new drawings cause the change wasn't something that I requested.
Not sure as to what your options are now, maybe give BACV (Building Advice and Conciliation Victoria) hotline a go. They offer free advise and I found them very helpful

They would need to provide you a variation before moving it.. Contract would still trump at this stage AFAIK. But seek advice.
