We are only having tiles in wet areas. The rest will be timber, but the same rule applies I guess Re: What's the best order of doing things? 9Apr 03, 2011 9:07 pm I've been told that I should ask my carpenter to start the frames higher off the floor to accommodate for the timber flooring to be wedged underneath. So to make it look neater. What's your opinion on this? Is it worth it? We are having timber flooring. Re: What's the best order of doing things? 10Apr 03, 2011 10:28 pm If the frames haven't got architraves or door stops on then you don't really need to lift the frames. The flooring can be cut very neatly when you aren't scribing around the finished frames. You can lift the frames if you like, just make sure that all floor fishes are the same height otherwise you can end up with gaps. If your tiles are 10mm and your flooring is 16mm at the joins to wet areas you will have a 6mm gap under your frame on the tile side.
