Re: Building with Burbank... 565Jan 11, 2011 12:56 pm andynmel SavantAmeya Hey AndynMel....Happy New Year I have been told that now its late Jan - first week of Feb . Last I checked we had crossovers/footpaths/pegs etc. The only thing missing on our street is roundabout (not sure if it matters). So should be anytime soon..... How much time did BB take once the land got registered/settled (ie after you signed the building contracts and your colour appointment) in your case ? Ah well, it's getting closer for you to start. After land registration/settlement ours took a while as we had to get council consent regarding site coverage which dragged things out. The dates for our build so far: 21/6/10 - Land settled 28/6/10 - Colour selection 16/7/10 - Working plans 30/7/10 - Engineering 11/10/10 - Building permit 18/10/10 - Final construction plans 20/10/10 - Site start letter 4/11/10? - Site scrape 29/11/10 - Slabbed 6/12/10 - Framed 10/12/10 - Fascia & guttering How's the newly redesigned MyPlace? I think I prefer the old layout, I was used to that plus this new layout doesn't fit on my screen properly so I have to use the scroll bar. ourhome Land Available 19/07/2010 31/05/2010 Building Contract Signed 09/06/2010 19/05/2010 Colour Selection 30/06/2010 Land Settlement 06/07/2010 Site Start Letter Sent 23/11/2010 Earthworks 03/12/2010 Set Out 02/12/2010 Thanks guys.... so about 3-4 months. thats a long wait but I guess we have been waiting since May10 so another 4-5 months should be ok I have not checked the latest MyPlace.....have forgotten my key ....will check it from home. barbgal Hi All, We are building with Burbank too, Ascent 2500. We have signed our plans, and waiting for them to start now. How is everyone's experience with them so far? Hi ...we are building the same house. We have finished our colour stage and signed all contracts. Currently waiting for our land to get settled (hoping to be anytime soon). Our exp with BB has been up and own but overall pleasant. Our best experience was at the colour studios - very helpful team. We are pretty much going with the same colour scheme as the one seen in eve display. There is a new display home opened in highlands for Ascent 2600 (previously called 2500). We have signed our plans, and waiting for them to start now. How is everyone's experience with them so far? Hi barbgal, Congrats for having your plans signed with BB. My experience so far with BB has been pretty good. BB took a long time for the paperwork to be completed and there were some glitches in the drawings and getting that corrected took a lot of time. But everything was flawless. We enjoyed our appointment at colours. It was stress free and relaxing as against what I had thought of. My sales person, admin, liason, SS everyone have been fabulous. Overall a good experience. I am at the frames stage at present, feel free to browse through my thread to followup on my progress and leave your comments. All the best with your building process. Re: Building with Burbank... 570Jan 12, 2011 10:03 am Hey yall. things are starting back up now. Electrition go in tomorrow then Plastering starts next week. Down fall is that we went to buy our fridge the other day to find that we have to have a water tap in our fridge cavity to have the water and ice disp working. Well, with Burbank after contract signing, you arent allowed to make ANY changes. So we wont be able to simply put in a $50 tap and to make this worse, we cant even do it after hand over as we are building a 2 story. Very frustrating considering its not structial, we will pay and its our house. So Make sure you have everything covered before signing. Forrester 43sq We have our keys (3/6/11) Now it's time to decorate (that's the fun part.lol) https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=37598 Re: Building with Burbank... 571Jan 12, 2011 11:18 am barbgal Hi All, We are building with Burbank too, Ascent 2500. Our land just settled before Christmas. Where are you building? We are on Parkside Estate. We have done all colour selection in November and signed off final plans before Christmas, I am not sure what goes on after this. I think they have to amend the plans. For some reason, they changed the way the shower was facing in the En suite. So we requested to move the shower head and where the door opens. The colour studio experience was great, although we had a walk through twice before the actual colour appointment day. So we took down lots of notes Our Colour Selection is as follows: Roof: Cat 1 Chocolate Main Bricks: Cat 2 Austral Latte Contrast Bricks: Cat 2 Austral Chocolate Mortar: Off-White - Rolled Fascia: Evening Haze Lintel Trim: Jasper Garage Roller Door: Jasper Entry Door: Cat 3 Corinthian Jasper with Translucent Glass Side Lights: Obscure Translucent Film Porch & Driveway: Lite Mocha Windows: Black Letter Box: Sandstone Internal Walls & Ceiling: White Canvas Feature Wall: Manhattan Door Handles: Cat 1 Ruben Ceiling Height: 2740mm Floor Tiles: Cat 2 Florence Pearl Gloss 450 x 450mm (Porcelain) Carpet & Underlay: Cat 1 Brown Blinds: Holland - Latte Ensuite/Bathroom Floor and Wall Tiles: Cat 2 Victoria Brown 400 x 400mm (Porcelain) Ensuite/Bathroom Grout: Havana Ensuite/Bathroom Bench top: Cat 2 Quantum Quartz - Ice Ensuite/Bathroom Cupboards: Cat 1 Shadow Ensuite/Bathroom Vanities: Marble trend Square Ensuite/Bathroom Shower Rose: Rain Jet Ensuite/Bathroom Windows: Obscure Translucent Film Ensuite/Bathroom Toilets: Stylus Prima Ensuite Shower: 1200mm x 900mm Tiled Laundry Wall Tiles: Cat 1 White Wavy Laundry Bench top: Cat 1 Frosty White Laundry Cupboard: Cat 1 Shadow Kitchen Cook Top/Oven/Range hood: Westinghouse 600mm Kitchen Bench top: Cat 4 Granite - Black Galaxy Kitchen Cupboards: Cat 8 Vinyl Wraps - Shadow Gloss Kitchen Splash back: Cat 2 Glass - Sandstone Kitchen Tap: Mix Tube Sinker Electrical: 3 TV Points 5 Data Points 1 Telephone Point Cat 2 Down Lights Extra Power Points Evaporative Cooling We'll have to visit the display house in highlands soon. But unfortunately, no actual houses I can see in NSW.. We have the same brick and they look awesome. Only thing I would note is that when they chip the orange/red is shown underneath. I will point this out in our PCI so they can replace the ones that are really bad and touch up the rest. Did you have the same issue Nelle with yours? Hopefully this picture works. http://img529.imageshack.us/img529/734/photofhl.jpg Re: Building with Burbank... 577Jan 13, 2011 10:10 pm ourhome Hi andynmel, I agree with you about using the scroll bar for My Place. I also miss the first page/home page for My Place. The only better thing I like about the new My Place was about the "Finance" tab, it gives a detailed information of the variation cost, the payments so far, invoices, total construction cost etc. The finance tab is good for our situation. It has brought to my attention the fact that we have been charged three times for our air-conditioner. We had an allowance in our original contract, we were then charged for the air-conditioner at the colours & electrical selection and when I raised this double charging with our consultant they raised a variation but have recorded it as a debit instead of a credit. Still waiting to hear back from them about this. I think frame stage and the very end stage are the important stages where it is better that you have the inspection done, if you do not wish to do all the stages. As far as I know, it is not very much needed to have an inspection for all the stages. But it good to have it done at the frame stage atleast. We brought this to our new admin's attention and she quickly made sure it was updated (within 24 hours).
