DIFFERENCE BETWEEN A STEAM WASHER & NORMAL WASHING MACH

I'm assuming obviously ones washed with steam another with water... sorry if i sound a little dumb...

but what's better?

glad to see i'm not the only one asking this question... i wonder if anyone in this forum has a steam washer, and if so, please give us some feedback...

As you heat grease, it becomes more fluid and more readily leaves the fabric.

I saw the LG steam washer/dryer 2 yrs ago at the home show - it looked very impressive (plus it comes in shiny black, champagne or pink!)

However - when reviewed on Choice - got canned:

OMG a pink one!!! I'd buy it just for that and have a proper one in the garage

They said: It’s a good washer

Their main beef with it seems to be that it uses a lot of water in the dryer (uses water to condense the moisture so as to not need to vent the heat) Also they said it used quite a lot of electricity for washing.

So all said and done if you are looking to get clean clothes and don't care too much about water and power use then it is a good machine. Peoples criteria vary.

I have found that I don't always agree with choices idea of what makes a good product. Make up your own minds.

3xb - true! But for $1600 to $2400 for a washer dryer - you could probably buy 2 individual units that are way more efficient (on both power & water) and still have change. I find Choice to be pretty good - we bought our AEG dishwasher in our previous home based on the Choice report. It was fantastic - quiet, hardly used any water and even handled pots!

Thanks for that stonecutter, Love it!! May even put it in the kitchen like the English (dont want to waste such a lovely looking machine)

Then I could look at it all day.

It would go welll with the hot pink splashback

My Dorta has one and loves it, but admittedly they don't use the dryer function very often.

I love it too!
We're actually planning to buy one once we move to our new house.
I hope it's worth the money.
