We had our walk through last Thursday and found minor things that needed attention. Our floorboards started yessterday, the paving people have started and also the decking, the house still looks like a construction site but hopefully not for too much longer. Our site supervisor has been really good, he has organised for the appliances to be installed the day before we move in so that they don't go 'walking'. It is soooo exciting to have the keys, I don't think it has sunk in yet as we are not living there but the end is in sight. The kids love going to the house they run around screaming and play hide and seek in all of the cupboards, I try not to stress and tell them off every 5 sec, but it is hard they are just as excietd as us. Roar - Congratulations on you rhand over. Please post pic, I will too once I have time to take some photos. We signed our contact in June 2008, builders interview June 2009, demolished existing house in July 2009, slab poured in Sept 2010, handover March 30 2010. All up it has taken us 20 months, the time frames that they give you are rubbish. We are living with my in-laws with two childern 3.5 years and 2 year old, it has been fine, they are great peopleo we have taken over their house, they are just as excited about us getting our keys, for different reasons. We are really hapy with the quality of the work that was done, I hope everyones build is as smooth as ours. Will keep you posted and look forward to hearing about everyone elses build. FAbes That's great news for you Fabes, from memory your not too far from us at Marion, we must say we have been surprised we had NO trouble with the council what so ever so we were very lucky I guess, we signed on the 7th Sept 2008 and we slept in our new place for the first time on the 12th Dec 2009 so all in all it was pretty good even though it didn't seem like it at times, the bad memories have faded, now all we need to do is win the lotto to get our landscaping done!! Hope you enjoy your place as much as we are ours. Vid Re: Building with Rendition Homes 155May 10, 2010 11:53 am Hi everyone..... we are looking at possibly building with Rendition as we have such an awkward block and had issues with the original plan etc that we had with Statesman. We now know that a different style house with a design to suit type builder would be better. We have a couple of options and this is one of them. Would love to know everyones feedback on how they went with Rendition and any tips. I will also read thru this thread. Thanks in advance and hope everyones builds are going well. So far we have a frame, windows, plumbing and gutters. The roof and bricks should be underway in the next week. The attention to detail has been fantastic. All tradies we have had dealings with so far have been fantastic. The carpenter even moved some windows for us after they had already built them in - he didn't have to as he had built them exactly to contract specs but I guess it is the pride he took in his work as well as keeping the customer happy. If you are happy to wait I would highly recommend them, I guess quality doesn't come quickly but we are hoping it will be worth it in the end. A lot of other builders seem to take a while to get started also. Goodluck with your decision. 2011 Home Sweet Home Handover 03 September 2010 PCI 27August 2010 Plumber 20August 2010 Electrician 19August 2010 Painting 04 August 2010 Cabinets 13Jul2010 Lockup 23June Frame 20April slab 1Mar10 Re: Building with Rendition Homes 159May 14, 2010 2:20 pm Thanks very much for your feedback guys!
