BIg job We were told that in the fix six months that you are not meant to paint until the house settles as then there will be cracks in the wall and your paint. They recommended waiting six months then when its settled to go from there. Can you please tell me if this is correct? Or am I being told a tall story? You can paint if you want to... but if cracks appear, the builder will patch them up but won't repaint (as they didn't paint in the first place) so you'll have to do it yourselves. That's why most people don't recommend painting until after 6 months. New beginnings. It sounds like in the long run it would be more worth while waiting until the foundations and walls have settled and then paint... as you have the rest of your life to be able to paint waiting six months I spose wont kill us! Try and find a plan that doesn't require structural changes because the builder will charge you alot!
