OMG we were in Beaumont tiles for 1.5 hours the other day - this could spell disaster!!!! Yeah - I'm hoping the standard range is good... I have already picked tiles that are no where near standard - so I am stressing out a bit - especially since our site costs came back 6.5k over what we were originally quoted Sleven Moved into our Atlantique MkII 36 by Carlisle Homes Re: The CARLISLE HOMES & SPECTRA General Information Thread 746Feb 27, 2010 1:44 pm sleven So we can just go to Spectra without an appointment and have a good ol' browse??? Yeah we're looking at the 600x300's too - they're not polished they are a matt finish with a rough texture! What is the brick bond pattern?? Does that contribute to the extra cost too?? I think it added a little to the cost due to some extra wastage but it wouldn't be a big part of the overall cost. *edit* Borrowing some pictures from around the forum.. So many houses with the Wild Rice roof tile colour and I thought we'd be the only two anywhere near each other. Have not visited the block for two weeks now (I think). Last time I was there, there was only one frame up. Will try to go there tomorrow. I guess that's the official start date... geeeeezz.. only took them 5 months since pre-sales contract signing.. Draco - we were told today our start date is March 12, and the slab will be poured on March 24 We're excited! (Our house is double storey so we've been told our guaranteed completion is Dec 12 - but at least we have someone else to compare build progress with!) I look forward to sharing our build with you all. Re: The CARLISLE HOMES & SPECTRA General Information Thread 751Mar 01, 2010 10:02 pm Awesome news MrsG have not seen a double go in the Carlisle thread for a while. Re: The CARLISLE HOMES & SPECTRA General Information Thread 752Mar 02, 2010 6:46 am Zerosignal Awesome news MrsG have not seen a double go in the Carlisle thread for a while. Guaranteed completion date is December 12 ... it's cutting it fine, but even with some **** weather, they say we'll be in well before that. God I hope we are! Keep an eye on my blog from after March 12, I'll be uploading frequently in the first few weeks, then periodically afterwards. I'm actually surprised that they're living up to what they said they would do. They told us in October that we could start in March because the land was titled. The only thing that held us up was the stupid bank being over-cautious ... but that's only because we're not selling our existing house until after the new one is built. So thankfully, so far, so good, Carlisle's promises have been delivered. And the Spectra Centre is great. Even a few weeks after Colour Selection, if you forget what you've chosen, you can go back in and take photos etc, it's great to be able to just go back in conveniently when you're at the office for tenders or contracts. A real winner! Re: The CARLISLE HOMES & SPECTRA General Information Thread 754Mar 02, 2010 5:32 pm *MrsG* draco76 wooohoooo... just got a call today that our site cut is scheduled next Friday.. Our CLE has so far been in contact with us more than once a week - she is great. (We have Emma) I dare say it will be once a week once the exciting news slows down, but yeah - at the moment, she's making us very happy with the level of communications! (She promised us at Contract stage that it would be a weekly update, at the very least - which is way more than our previous builder! - we only had contact with the invoices! ha ha) Re: The CARLISLE HOMES & SPECTRA General Information Thread 757Mar 02, 2010 6:34 pm We received our contract on Friday, well before our signing meeting. I have issues with the build quality and specifications. Did anyone have any issues with signing the building contract with clauses regarding the build specifications. I have issues with comments about the toilet can be 100mm offset from the centre of the room regardless of how the display home is built! This is crazy. The frame build tolerance does not meet the building code of Australia, they state "there can be minimal walls that are off vertical by 15mm. Building code spec is 4mm for 2m high wall, so for 2.6m wall it would be in the order of 5mm. Has anyone approached Carlisle about this? Carlisle praise themselves on building a good quality home, and they state they will build it to the same quality as the display and change there mind with regard to this statement throughout the building specs. Re: The CARLISLE HOMES & SPECTRA General Information Thread 758Mar 02, 2010 6:37 pm It is official !! Contracts signed (finally) We started with JG King, then went to Henley, and ended up signing with Carlisle. Land is Titled. Finance is in place. Building Permit issued. Seems like we will have a Site Start in new couple of days. Can't believe Carlisle Homes: Really happy with the way things have gone so far. Hope the experience stays good !! Cannot wait until the brick work goes on it feels like things are moving fast but I do expect them to slow down over the next a few weeks once construction moves indoors. Check our blog in my post signature for updates. 0 5239 We are at the stage on our build in Kilcoy, Queensland where we need to get our fencing installed but we cant get any contact details for our neighbours to give them… 0 6606 You should check your detail drawings, it may show downpipe within brick pier. 14 14631 |
