Re: Building 'The Benchmark' with REDINK Homes 63Feb 19, 2010 9:44 pm So... Rang the land guy again today and explained the situation about not being able to get to the block to do the soil tests and were told the roads wont be ready till end of April but was told Titles end of May which really means end of June Oh well I told redink and they were good and said they were going to see if they could find anyways around it. So I guess we go to the shops and purchase a big bag of patience then sit and wait. I was really hoping to be in by April next year but I think that will be a dream! I will never buy a block waiting on a title again!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Re: Building 'The Benchmark' with REDINK Homes 64Feb 19, 2010 9:48 pm Oh I said the exact same thing about a non titled block never again!! I hope they can find a way around it for you Rhi and get those tests done! Re: Building 'The Benchmark' with REDINK Homes 65Feb 19, 2010 9:58 pm Lordy that is disappointing to hear Chin up girl, with all this extra time you're going to have a wealth of good ideas to design with Building the Benchmark - Update 66Feb 25, 2010 12:02 am Well.... 2 things happened today. We had a call from redink explaining they will be calling me every few weeks to update me on my house and so we can be reassured and not worry that we are left in the dark I thought this was very nice of them! and We drove past our block and it actually looks like a block now WOOFRICKINHOO!!! You dont know how excited I am about that as last week it was a mound of dirt RHI - BALDIVIS PERTH 2005 Bought/Finished WA Housing Centre Home 2010 Building the Benchmark with REDINK Homes in The Avalon 2013 Building the Michigan with Cont3nt Living In Highbury Estate! Re: Building 'The Benchmark' with REDINK Homes 67Feb 25, 2010 10:45 am WOOOOHOOOOOOOOOO Hopefully those titles won't be far away. Does that mean there's roads out there so redink can do the survey?? Re: Building 'The Benchmark' with REDINK Homes 68Feb 25, 2010 11:21 am there arent any road roads but do you know how they put down the rumbly sand and compress it?? Thats what my block looks like RHI - BALDIVIS PERTH 2005 Bought/Finished WA Housing Centre Home 2010 Building the Benchmark with REDINK Homes in The Avalon 2013 Building the Michigan with Cont3nt Living In Highbury Estate! Re: Building 'The Benchmark' with REDINK Homes 70Feb 25, 2010 11:57 am Hi! Yeah I think it was around 200 - 300 dollars. I cant find my form or I would give you a def figure but it wasnt as much as I thought. Hows all your house stuff going? What have you upgraded so far? RHI - BALDIVIS PERTH 2005 Bought/Finished WA Housing Centre Home 2010 Building the Benchmark with REDINK Homes in The Avalon 2013 Building the Michigan with Cont3nt Living In Highbury Estate! Re: Building 'The Benchmark' with REDINK Homes 71Feb 25, 2010 12:50 pm Thanks for that. As for the upgrades lets see, the brick to classique limestone, we had to put in sarking due to fire hazard area and also the eaves had to be made from something else so the house would survie an ember attack. Redink have let me upgradde the flyscreens to fire proof ones and provide all the weepholes and gutter guard that are required due to the fire restrictions. I have double doors on the entrance as well as to the games room, went for the laminate in the kitchen, we changed the pantry size so it is a lot bigger and are having nib walls put in the laundry near the shelves so that we can put sliding doors across. We got rid of the baths to make the ensuite and bathrooms bigger (my kids prefer showers to baths so wasn't a big deal), added some extra towel rails in the kids bathroom. Extra lights and power points and digital tv points and phone line inside and out also in the garage. Changed the activity room into a 5th bedroom. Upgraded a set of sliding doors and a window in the family room to a set of 6 stacker doors and in the main bedroom changed one of the windows for a sliding door as that will exit to the back patio (you will see what I mean about changing the whole layout of the house when I upload the plans). In the kitchen I have supplied all the appliances as I picked up all ex display model Kleenmaid appliances at auction can't wait for my kitchen, I have a 900mm pyrolytic oven, glass rangehood and induction cooktop, plus the dishwasher from kleenmaid. The lights in the bathroom and ensuite I am supplying as we are going with the IXL 3-in-1. Redink were really good about it and only charged $60 to install all my own stuff. Also because we have no gas in the area and didn't want to use gas bottles we went with electric for the SHW booster. Also all the internal doors are going to be upgraded to Corinthian Stanford and the pantry door is 820mm not 620mm. Just this instant I got a reply from Redink to do the plumbing behind the fridge ($280) so will upgrade that as well. And finally the most important upgrade of all time is to put a lock on my bedroom door!!! After my 3 year old triplets got into the ensuite and poured alomst $80 worth of shampoo, conditioner, exfoliant and toiletries down the drain and all over themselves the other day this has definitely become the number 1 most excitedly anticipated change I have made to the house. Re: Building 'The Benchmark' with REDINK Homes 72Feb 25, 2010 3:48 pm Let me start by saying... triplets!!! I bet you are busy I have two, 22 months apart and I am nutters most of the time Wow you have upgraded a heap I cant wait to see your plan and I know Purple butterfly will be dying to as well as we are all building the same house! It good seeing what other ppl have done with it so we can compare and maybe make those changes in our own house. We have made quite a few changes but nothing like a 5th bedroom and all that! I would love to see your plans when you have time but I totally understand with kids there is never enough time in the day I am lucky mine sleep quite a bit and I have a laptop which i sit in the toy room and lounge and use when they are playing May I ask how much the stackers doors are as we were thinking of doing the exact same thing! I was pretty close on the plumbing behind the fridge RHI - BALDIVIS PERTH 2005 Bought/Finished WA Housing Centre Home 2010 Building the Benchmark with REDINK Homes in The Avalon 2013 Building the Michigan with Cont3nt Living In Highbury Estate! Re: Building 'The Benchmark' with REDINK Homes 73Feb 25, 2010 3:52 pm GUESS WHAT PPL!!! Just had a phone call from red ink and they advised us that the website they look at to see how the block is coming along says that they will be finished completion of the block mid march!!!!!!! So that means a couple of weeks and we are go ahead again so slab hopefully by July?? This has madeeeeeeeee my day RHI - BALDIVIS PERTH 2005 Bought/Finished WA Housing Centre Home 2010 Building the Benchmark with REDINK Homes in The Avalon 2013 Building the Michigan with Cont3nt Living In Highbury Estate! Re: Building 'The Benchmark' with REDINK Homes 74Feb 26, 2010 1:56 am Congrats on you phone call, it's always nice when you hear that something you thought was going to take a long time moves forward. The stacker doors were a promo that Redink were doing, I think it was 50% off or something like that. They may still have it going worth asking about seeing as it would cost a whole heap more to have it done normally. It cost $1378 to upgrade to the 6 stacker, they also were doing the 3 stacker for around $700 to $800. Yes the 3 little terrors and their sister keep me very busy but they started kindy this year (just scrapped in by being born 5 weeks early in June instead of July) so I now have 2 days to restore order to my house and regain my sanity!! Re: Building 'The Benchmark' with REDINK Homes 75Feb 26, 2010 10:02 am wow thats a good price on the stackers!! We are enclosing our games and as you would know that means only the sliding door to give light in that whole kitchen dining area so we have to think of ways to brighten the area! I was thinking maybe a sunlight in the kitchen but I would really like the keep my roof in tact RHI - BALDIVIS PERTH 2005 Bought/Finished WA Housing Centre Home 2010 Building the Benchmark with REDINK Homes in The Avalon 2013 Building the Michigan with Cont3nt Living In Highbury Estate! Re: Building 'The Benchmark' with REDINK Homes 76Feb 26, 2010 10:52 am Congrats on your nice flat block Rhi!!! Much nicer than a pile of rubble Will the titles be issued in March too, or are you still in the dark about that? I've got my fingers crossed for you - waiting for titles is one of the longest drawn out processes of the build I think Re: Building 'The Benchmark' with REDINK Homes 77Feb 26, 2010 4:00 pm Rhi, I moved my sink off the island to the outer wall and put a window in. I also "L" shaped the benchtop along outer wall and moved the hotplate / rangehood there to make room for the window and 1500 sink. Edit 28/2 - Sorry Rhi, Ignore the above, I forgot you have the benchmark. That will teach me to post after drinking Re: Building 'The Benchmark' with REDINK Homes 78Mar 03, 2010 9:50 am ahaha i just saw this then I did think I wonder how they did that RHI - BALDIVIS PERTH 2005 Bought/Finished WA Housing Centre Home 2010 Building the Benchmark with REDINK Homes in The Avalon 2013 Building the Michigan with Cont3nt Living In Highbury Estate! Re: Building 'The Benchmark' with REDINK Homes 80Mar 09, 2010 10:19 pm hey Had a call the other day asking about the land again but by the looks of it it may be a week late which is still better than the end of april I am still so stuck on colours, I am saving pics I am finding on the internet My cousin works in tradelink and has said I can upgrade all my stuff through them if I like and leave it out on redink providing they allow me to do this, so atm trying to find pics of stuff I want RHI - BALDIVIS PERTH 2005 Bought/Finished WA Housing Centre Home 2010 Building the Benchmark with REDINK Homes in The Avalon 2013 Building the Michigan with Cont3nt Living In Highbury Estate!
