It is hard to decide on colors, my hubby is color blind so its all up to me. Our kitchen is black, white and red will post colors later. We are having chocolate bricks. I wasnt sure on light or dark bricks but after you see so much it all becomes to confusing Cherie Re: Re designed Hamilton 278 31Jan 27, 2010 10:05 am Hi there, I know how its like - we've been to so many houses but arent able to see the bricks we want as the details given to us such as lot numbers have been replaced with street numbers but we were picking either the light parchment bricks or the choc bricks but decide to go with choc bricks in the end as the lighter ones may vary in colour and some houses that we saw look yellowish instead of creamy white... Re: Re designed Hamilton 278 32Jan 27, 2010 12:52 pm Hi Cherie I really love what you have done with the plan. I'm just around the corner from you and was going to build the Hamilton but Coral couldn't do it because of the driveway gradient. My block is a corner block and if I had of even though about changing it the way you did I probably could have put it on, oh well! Looking forward to watching it go up. There is a Hamilton 278 across the road from me and it was finished in around 12 weeks. Michael Re: Re designed Hamilton 278 33Jan 27, 2010 3:02 pm Quote: Hi Nic How did your tile hunting go. Pretty much done... we picked a white / grey wall tile for the bathroom (it's 200x400 so will be laid horizontally) with a charcoal floor tile. Bathroom vanity is white and the benchtop is this one: Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Kitchen - plain white wall tiles (200x300, also laid horizontally) with this benchtop: Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ and these cupboard doors: Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ We picked out floor tiles that we loved at Beaumont, but they weren't in the builders range, so were going to cost us $20 extra per sqm for the tile, then found out that as they were rectified edges, it was another $50 per sqm again to lay them, so $70 a sqm extra over 85 sqm's, so another $6000 or so for these tiles, on top of the $7200 that we were already paying . We decided not to get those ones, found another one we liked that was in the builders range, and didn't have rectified edges, so we were going to get that instead. Bought home a couple of tiles as samples, sat them on the floor to see how they looked and then realised how grubby they got and slippery they were, so cancelled that idea as well. Went out to Independant Carpets to look at floating floorboards as we got our boards from there a few years back. Found this one that we really like: Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Not slippery, easy to look after and haven't been damaged by our kids and dog's yet and they are $1k cheaper than the tiles that Coral quoted on. Happy with that! Were you at Amber tiles on Sunday by any chance? There was a couple out there building with Coral looking at red splashbacks while I was there... just thought that it may have been you! Nic. Hi Michael We live our plan made heaps of changes but are so happy with it. Are you building with Coral or somebody else?? What street are you in, its a great area we are on top of the hill so its a great view. What stage are you up too?? Cherie Re: Re designed Hamilton 278 35Jan 27, 2010 8:48 pm Hi Cherie I'm in Moreton across the road from another Coral under construction at the moment (and it's coming on very quickly too). When Coral couldn't do the Hamilton for me I had a backup plan I liked with Allworth so ended up going with that. I moved in six months ago but still sorting out landscaping etc. You do get a fantastic view from up where you are, it's a great area. Your stage was still bush when I purchased my block.
