What do you think about granite benchtops?
Will they ever go out of style
I love them but don't want tospend a fortune if they will be ugly in 20 years time

I like them…BUT, you need to treat them well. They tend to get water damage after a while. Which will mean sanding back and re-coating. That’s fine if you’re up for it. I think that’s why the stones are so popular, very low in maintenance. Internal and External Building and Colour Consultant Online - Worldwide http://www.denovoconcepts.com Re: Granite benchtops 16Jan 08, 2007 9:59 pm I have a 5 metre long work bench which is a bit of a feature as it is in the centre of the house looking out onto the outdoor area so I want something with the WOW factor...this is something that hubbie has no say whatsoever over I do want it to be clutter free and very smooth looking I did like the look of that Caesarstone Ivory as I was using a feature wall at the back of the stove which would work out in the centre of the the wall behind the worktop so a neutral colour would be fantastic.

But I would be very careful about using it in residential applications. It scratches very easily, and after a while with heavy use, could look like a meat cutters slab! That’s just my opinion…..
