I would stay away from it. It scratches VERY easily. Can scratch it with a hard fingernail (nothing too deep), keys can easily scratch it too. Being acrylic, any scratches will be easy to buff out, but it would be a constant pain to always buff out scratches... Re: Corian vs Essa vs Caesar 37Oct 29, 2009 2:24 pm After having a look at the corian we decided we will go with Hanex, Crystal Vanilla. Much the same as Corian but nicer colour. hanex Edited by a Mod Re: Corian vs Essa vs Caesar 38Oct 29, 2009 5:01 pm I got my Corian samples in the mail too, and the first thing I did was to see how easily it scratches....and lets just say that just a soft slice with the butter knife scratched it already....although the white one's aren't as obvious as the darker ones kinda im dissappointed coz I really liked the look of it, and dont think our budget will stretch to the Essa or Caesars....at least not through the builder. they only do corian, and wanted to charge an arm, leg and kidney if we insisted on the other two. so my option is to probably stick with the standard laminate first, then upgrade to stone/quartz or granite at a later stage. 12 March 2010 - Land titles received 3 April 2010 - Signed building contract 14 April 2010 - Prestart 28 April 2010 - Loan approved 30 June 2010 - Slab completed 27 August 2010 - Brickwork completed 22 September 2010 - Roofing completed 30 September 2010 - Internal walls plastered 12 October 2010 - Lock Up 19 November 2010 - PCI 26 November 2010 - Handover 29 December 2010 - Moved In https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=32584 Re: Corian vs Essa vs Caesar 39Oct 29, 2009 9:21 pm Look into Granite. At the right place, it will be alot cheaper than CS, probably not too much more than Corian i'd imagine... Definately look into it. We've had a $2000 difference between granite quotes..
Also, get quotes from somewhere other than your builder Re: Corian vs Essa vs Caesar 40Oct 29, 2009 9:22 pm Instead of upgrading through our builder we got credit for our entire kitchen and found a cabinet maker who also works with stone. Because he didnt have to subcontract someone to come in and do the benches for us we got a great price. For 15k we are getting our entire 3m x 3m kitchen built with Essa Stone benches plus a 2m island bench with waterfall edges, 2pack cabinets, soft close drawers, pull out pantry, sliding up section for the toaster/microwave, over heads the whole way around (when our builder was only going to give us 2) pull out bin drawer and heaps of other extras. PLUS we are getting 3 bathroom vanities in Essa stone and 2 pack with feature cabinetry in between AND our laundry in stone and 2 pack with over head cupboards AND a feature cabinet in the living room with a stone bench. Through our builder we got 8k credited back so all these extras cost us 7k. Might be worth looking around. Thankyou for your advice. We do have Caesar coming out and hopefully resolve the issue for us. 4 19192 |
