Be aware of this guy if you come across him. He did my exposed concrete three weeks back and I am still running after him to come and finish the work. He totally created the mass of my driveway. Sadly, I paid him in full on the day he poured the concrete. I regret everyday now. Re: Conreters driveway wanted in Melbourne West - Caroline Sprin 4Sep 25, 2009 2:23 pm He did expossed agg for me. I recommended him to a forum meber (VJ) and she was very happy with his work. from memory haywgl (another forum member) also got her driveway done by Joe. He does not ask for any money till he finishes the job and you feel satisfied about it. Always picks up his phone. If he cant he is prompt enough to give u a call back Re: Conreters driveway wanted in Melbourne West - Caroline Sprin 5Sep 29, 2009 1:28 am I can recommend a guy who is about to do my place, and has also done my friends place, good work, and is local. Regards Andrew Re: Conreters driveway wanted in Melbourne West - Caroline Sprin 6Oct 04, 2009 5:19 pm I second Phil. Very punctual and helpful. Family business and operates out of Melbourne West. Re: Conreters driveway wanted in Melbourne West - Caroline Sprin 7Jan 12, 2010 11:38 am Unfortunately we fell into Marty's trap as well - I would strongly suggest everyone not to use him. We have him 50% of the money and he did nothing for over 3 weeks. Now he has poured the concrete and let it dry too much so the exposed aggregate looks disgusting. I look at my drive way and cant help tears rolling down my eyes. So much to trust someone. Is there anyone we could go to? Any recommendations on what I could try. Regards Praridhi Re: Conreters driveway wanted in Melbourne West - Caroline Sprin 8Jan 12, 2010 1:20 pm Sorry to hear that. It's so hard to find a good concreter to do exposed aggregate so if anyone has any recommendations that would be great. I'm in the Taylors Hill area and require my driveway to be done soon. I would suggest you get intouch with one of the concreters our members have recommended in the posts above. Let em take a look and offer some possible solutions. It is difficult to comment without visuals, do you have any photos? Re: Conreters driveway wanted in Melbourne West - Caroline Sprin 13Jan 16, 2010 2:15 pm No plastic? Re: Conreters driveway wanted in Melbourne West - Caroline Sprin 14Jan 19, 2010 8:02 am From the photos, it looks like he did a good job dtrance. Are you happy with what he did? Can you also send me his details dtrance? Re: Conreters driveway wanted in Melbourne West - Caroline Sprin 16Jan 22, 2010 11:26 am Hi Guys, Sorry for the delay, building issues (Carlisle Homes) have been eating me over the past week or two. I will PM all of you the details of the concreter tonight or tomorrow. Regarding the plastic, the concreter said when the concrete dries, it needs heaps of water and he didn't use plastic to allow the concrete to absorb water from the soil (he watered before pouring). I am happy with the job the concreter did, he is a Western Suburb bloke. Re: Conreters driveway wanted in Melbourne West - Caroline Sprin 17Jan 22, 2010 12:48 pm Thanks Dtrance, We too are building with Carlisle, and so far can't be happy enough with everything they have done to date. Pity to hear they are causing you some grief. Re: Conreters driveway wanted in Melbourne West - Caroline Sprin 18Jan 22, 2010 11:20 pm Hi all, PMs sent as requested. The concreter uses Hanson mix, see Hanson's website for available colours and mixes. I chose the "Bachus Marsh" mix for my agg. http://www.hansoncm.biz/resources/downloadCentre.shtml (http://www.hansoncm.biz/pdfs/Imagecrete ... %20VIC.pdf) http://www.hansoncm.biz/products/decorative.shtml Re: Conreters driveway wanted in Melbourne West - Caroline Sprin 19Feb 10, 2010 10:25 am dtrance Hi Guys, Sorry for the delay, building issues (Carlisle Homes) have been eating me over the past week or two.
