Anybody out there got any experience with installing a hot water recirculation pump ?
It's s small pump forcing the cooled down water in the hot water pipes back into the water heater, to avoid running the tap before hot water comes.

The basic unit is $487 and the mixer model is $838. So if you work out 10% of your annual water bill that would give you a best case payback period - and maybe 5% as a worst case - and you'd find out your payback period young Matt. Remember it is a long term product. But more to the point - it stops wasting good fresh water and if your in Brissy on Level 6 water restrictions, (which they may well soon be) it would give you a bit of water every day on to your prized vegie garden without even having to bucket it out from the shower or kitchen.
