Have a look at the wall units DeElle installed in her study too - those were from IKEA. Frosted glass doors on a boxed shelf unit, similar to the Billy one. Effektiv, I think it was? hang on, I'll find the thread....

I knew there was a reason I joined this forum. It's great when other people can throw ideas your way, as sometimes it's hard to think outside the box.

Oh our cats will climb all over anything (but only when we're not looking - they are incredibly good girls when we're home, never jumping on the kitchen bench (big no-no in our house) or on the dining table... but the minute we head out to the shops they're everywhere they shouldn't be! Hence leading to them sleeping in the laundry now, and spending the day in the laundry while we're at work). They've been sprung one time too many... when I head out... but creep back to look in the kitchen window and they have jumped into the kitchen sink! Grrr... dont get me started, that's a whole new thread!

The units with the frosted doors look great. Can hide birthday and christmas presents up there too (who would ever snoop in laundry cupboards?).

You need to move your good wines into there then Kek, that way they will be there when you want them hehe

D'oh! Why didn't I think of that?

I hide my best whey protein there ....my husband has no idea there's anything except the cheap stuff in the pantry....

We took the laundry cupboards option for this reason. All the cleaning things will go in the cupboards above and below the sink.

We want to put our wine fridge and freezer along the wall, so that ruled out extending the bench. I think we'll keep an eye out at Ikea or elsewhere for some cupboards to but up high above them. There's far too much to think about...

Received an email today of the new release down the road from us. Blocks the same size as ours are selling for an extra $70k :shock:

Well drinks will just have to be at ours all the time then....downhill stumbles are easy.... I'm still amazed at the price difference but oh well we will see what the difference is in our next stage!

Hmmm... where will the poker table go? The 'Living' room is the pool room. Still haven't agreed on the where the home brew will be set up! (Most people our age discuss nurserys, dining tables, linen...) we're just concerned about space for the wine fridge, home brew and bar... :wink:

Well the good thing about a poker table is you only need to get it ou when you want to play.. Can be folded up in the garage at other times... so you could set it up in the dining or even alfresco area!

and you have plenty of rooms for the nursery.. :lol:

At this stage we will refer to those rooms as 'spare' rooms. One for my olds when they come up from the country, and one for the outlaws when they come down, the other will be set up as a tv/playstation room for the many nieces and nephews.

Time to bore you all with some more pics.

Below is our front entry door. We upgraded from the standard entry door to a 1200mm pivot door due to the size of our front entry. The standard door just looked very very wrong...

Below are the internal doors we've picked throughout. We originally wanted the 1200mm pivot entry door in the Madison design too, but the only door they offered us was the Infinity. But our internal doors have remained as the Madison.

I have it all sorted.

Living Room - Pool Room + Poker Room (play poker on the pool table, just make sure your guests dont put their beverages on the table/cloth. Get bar-stools so you can increase/decrease height to match that of the table. Get little small side tables for people to put their poker chips, beverage etc.. on. I'm a champion Poker player, ask Georgie or jamesb. They feel the wrath of bigred with his big slick. I'll invite you guys over to Big Red's Castle when it's built for a game of poker, game of 8 ball, and a fridge load of wine and frothies! Mind you, it'll be out in P-Town (Pakenham) so I don't expect you to come! :-)

Home Brew - 3m by 3m Shed will be ample space to perform a batch of 240L of beer at any one time. This is the way beer should be produced, only milk comes in 60 litres.

Wine Fridge - I'm a bigger fan of a bucket and ice; however, just put this in your laundry or something.

But yeah, nursery's, dining tables and linen is boring to me too. It's far more interesting to perfect the distance between the various internals of your house in relation to the usefulness.

Eg: Toilet near a bar.
Eg: A fridge near my empty beer
Eg: A pool table near the TV

Just my two cents anyway!

Well, we've been looking around at ideas for AGES now, and cant seem to get away from wanting to acheive a tropical resort/Fijian style about our house.

If anyone at all comes across any ideas/pics that sound like what we're after, please post them on here... along with details of where they're from, price etc etc

The more info the better!

We keep coming back to these same lights. We will have a row of 3 in each the family room, dining, and living rooms.

P-town isn't really that far away, we'll have to take a road trip down to the BR Brewery. We drive down that way heaps, the folks are in Sth Gippsland.

Hmmm... study is going to be our gym, but has potential to be a theatre room... can always work out while we watch movies and sport
