My husband makes me laugh. We get to the shop we want to look at. We get out of the car. I always say take the plans in, he says no, don't as its a buying signal and we are only here to look. And most times he is the one who has to go out to the car to collect the plans because he decides we cant turn down all the bargains! we are selling and moving to the coast, if you know someone who wishes to buy in Mernda Villages, please visit this link http://www.realestate.com.au/property-h ... -107083288 Re: Should I buy STUFF for the house before it's built? 32May 23, 2009 11:33 pm We've been trying to not buy anything as we are currently renting a small place (a 2 bedroom granny flaat) but today we could not help ourselves - we went to Ikea and had to buy two CD racks as they were originally $100 each and they were reduced to $20 each, so we thought, even if they don't match later it's only $40, we could not let a bargain like that pass! I know when I first moved out, for the few months before I started just buying bits n pieces every time I went to the shops. I currently rent on my own though so have everything I need to survive 'A bottle of wine contains more philosophy than all the books in the world.' I also haven't lived out of home but have been buying the little stuff for a while now so have that stored away (thank goodness for Boxing Day/Mid Year sales hehe). So far I've got on layby a couch, entertainment unit, washing machine, dryer have have the dining suite and coffee table arriving next week (thanks parents for the storage room hehe). Still have to work out which damn TV to get, but will wait for the mid-year sales now I think. Great idea about the cleaning products etc. I should go get some of that stuff very soon and also the pantry staples like flour, sugar etc I guess. Seems like a trip to Aldi is on the cards My current thought provoker is whether to buy the gorgeous leather, 3 seater HT suite I saw yesterday. It's quite reduced in price but I was holding off buying for the HT because I probably can't afford to set it up for a little while. Also I'd prefer a 4 seater but can always add a couple of separate recliners and beanbags for extra seating I guess Why did I have to sit on the beautiful couch, WHY!!!
