Building a Wisdom Prosperity 23 - http://erwisdomprosperity.blogspot.com/ Re: Looking for a white paint... 24Apr 22, 2009 9:59 pm I was in the same predicament. I was really familiar with the Dulux white colour range and struggled to find a Bristol or Taubmans paint colour close to my favourite Antique White USA. The reason, apparently, is that Taubmans and Bristols use brighter bases in their white paints and so the whites appear more stark. I ended up going a little creamier so that I didn't risk the brightness. If you look closely, it certainly does have a hint of blue through it, but I think it's more like a crisp iceberg blue. I honestly don't think you'd really only notice it unless you were specifically looking to see what 'colour' white it is. I'm sure once we've done something with the floor and put blinds etc in it will look different again. http://i470.photobucket.com/albums/rr64/JellyLegs01/100_0269.jpg http://i470.photobucket.com/albums/rr64/JellyLegs01/100_0270.jpg Hope that helps someone. Re: Looking for a white paint... 27Apr 25, 2009 8:05 pm Hi, I didnt know looking for "white" could be so difficult!! We are picking colours at the moment and just need to decide on a white colour for our internal doors, door frames, window frames, skirting boards and architraves. We are having a natural timber floor, and have decided on 1/2 strength Hog Bristle for the walls, which will really compliment the timber floors. So, any ideas on which white would look good with these colours? I really just want white.... didnt think it would be that difficult but I need to tell the builder the exact white I want. Any help would be appreciated. Building the "Yarra Studio" by Premier Builders/Longvue Homes. Yammerbook Way, Cascades on Clyde All done.. Thanks Jelly legs, what colour is white on white? is that the name of the colour? I guess that's the point, that unless we are looking at how white or whether it has a blue/green etc hint you probably wouldn't notice. Building a Wisdom Prosperity 23 - http://erwisdomprosperity.blogspot.com/ Re: Looking for a white paint... 29Apr 29, 2009 5:17 pm Thanks for those photos Jellylegs, the white is a lovely crisp white and not too blue IYKWIM? I think I'll stick to the white on white now. We have whisper white at the moment and I find it a little on the grey side, probably because of the black. Does anyone have an opinion on matching furniture/decor, in my case browns with these whites - or am I looking way into it ???? Re: Looking for a white paint... 30Aug 13, 2016 7:35 am Antique USA throws a lot of yellow.....i personally hate it!! Most of this thread is 7 years old! lol Our builder is using Taubmans and most people tend to comment on dulux colours. We are doing a mountain spotted oak karndean floors, moose coloured laminex in the kitchen with pure mineralstone laminex tops. Any recommendations for a taubmans white/neutral paint?
