Assuming the bed is constructed appropriately and I am hanging it from each corner using chain or thick rope, I need to understand how and where I need to attach it to in the ceiling for maximum strength and safety. The extra load of the bed wouldn't break anything, but you would crack your plasterboard with the extra deflection from the weight. It's been a while but I think a ceiling member is designed to carry 15kg/m2 with a 3 mm deflection.
