Re: New Home - Concrete around house 4Aug 25, 2022 6:06 pm Noname if you are on reactive soil, you should be building a perimeter path around the entire house of at least 1M with a 50mm fall. Its handy for getting around the outside of the house, its necessary for keeping water away from the foundations. The gold standard is a strip drain at the edge of the path to collect the water run off. You can have the builder do it or you can do it after handover. After handover is usually cheaper, but if its laid poorly or incorrectly, its less likely you will get a concreter back to fix it than if it was the builders responsibility. The builder will charge you anywhere from 20-50% more to do it. Thanks very much. Grab a hose, insert it at the top of the inlet/down pipe and turn the water on and see where the water is escaping from. Then you'll know. 3 9020 Thanks for the photos.
