We also have a level difference between bathroom floors and the adjacent area, but the way they managed the transition is to make a slope with the tile over it. Bathroom to be tiled and main floor laminated timber. Once Tile is completed it will be 50mm higher than the slab due to bedding for tiles. Once laminated floor is completed it will be 12mm higher than the slab. This will make the bathroom floor 38mm higher than the main floor. I am concern with the height difference and I see this is a safely concern.(very likely to stumble as pictured) Ideally the wet area should have been 40-50mm lower when the slab was made to compensate the bedding for tiles. I want the difference as less as possible (not more than 10mm) What is acceptable height in building standard? Can I hold my builder responsible to fix it? What are my options? Please help , many thanks. Mohh. Hi Mohh One option is to have the property looked at by a building expert. The Master Builder Association has a list of building experts you can check out.
