Is this a standard process i.e. only include corners for deepened rebate and not the full length on the slab design or is this something this should be fixed prior to signing the contracts Diagram A - Deepened rebate area marked in RED Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Diagram B - Missing area marked in Blue SF1 is used to nominate deepened rebate on the slab design Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Re: Deepend Rebate representation on the drawings - Please p 2Mar 19, 2021 7:39 pm Request full drawings and cross section engineering details before you proceed any further OT people in Builders offices are allowed to make mistakes ....but clients are asked to always pay Cheers Chris Designer,Engineer (Civil,Const & Envir),Builder,Concrete & Masonry Contract.Struct Repairs Re: Deepend Rebate representation on the drawings - Please p 3Mar 19, 2021 8:55 pm Thanks heaps for the prompt response. Re: Deepend Rebate representation on the drawings - Please p 4Mar 20, 2021 10:12 am The problem with typical engineering 2D details is that most clients can't read, nor relate them to their build and contour while leaving it up to the Builder to select what options he chooses. missing heights, ffls, section markers, etc Did they present you with a 3d rendered elevation? ie Show us your Facades If so then get them to do a 3D engineered Model showing/explaining the contours, all retaining and levels here footing, slab and retaining locations ( under the House, Boundaries, etc) Help! How to decide on a Builder without quotes. As you have pointed out what happens with the full length of the slab and retaining are there additional costs forthcoming or does the builder leave you in a worse position in regards to having to do the remaining retaining after handover? Only the Builder can answer that question and best asked before competitive tendering...then get 3 Builders to quote. Otherwise you will turn up on site expecting one thing and getting another. Those engineering details cover every possibility just in case the engineer has missed something in the design Cheers Chris Designer,Engineer (Civil,Const & Envir),Builder,Concrete & Masonry Contract.Struct Repairs Re: Deepend Rebate representation on the drawings - Please p 5Apr 04, 2023 1:33 pm Hi, did you get the respond from builder? I have the same deepened rebate on my site drawing but they only leave SF1 on engineering drawing which i think is strip footing. Re: Deepend Rebate representation on the drawings - Please p 6Apr 04, 2023 2:19 pm Hey betty_chenj Welcome to the forum Correct Strip Footing 1 (SF1) is a standard/typical detail. It may not be a deepened Footing. You better crosscheck that with the cross section, site plan and Engineering Details or you might be in for a $ticker $hock variation Cheers Chris Designer,Engineer (Civil,Const & Envir),Builder,Concrete & Masonry Contract.Struct Repairs Thanks very much! And would the landscaper/contractor generally involve the engineer or is that something the client would do?
