They tend to get very aggressive/defensive very quickly and they certainly don't like it when a client questions their build quality. What have they installed? - Is the air con a split system or ducted? - What kW rating is the air con? - What sq meterage is the house? - If ducted how many outlets/zones are there? Looking at their website it states Ducted Reverse Cycle Air Con but doesn't specify any capacity/rating. Looking at their website it states Ducted Reverse Cycle Air Con but doesn't specify any capacity/rating. it is a 14KW cooling ducted system. the house is delano luxury (https://www.dalealcock.com.au/home-design/delano/) that have total 280m2 house area with very high ceiling. They come out with the calculation, saying that the house required 24KW Cooling (While they provide only 14KW) and they are happy to teach me how to ONLY turn on certain zone only. But what I expect is to be able to turn on all the zones. What I can say is that Dale Alcock KNOWs from the beginning and did not inform me. They blame me not asking them that I expect to cool the whole house. Their calculation of 22.23 also appears a bit low going on a standard of 125W/m2. Is the garage, laundry etc included in that 280m2? I think their "logic" is that you have the Living, Theatre and Study on during the day and only cool the Bedrooms at night. On that basis I'd expect your system to be running flat out all the time and it will thus not last that long. What they've done is typical of DAH - offer you this great "promotion" but only provide minimal information and hope you won't ask too many questions. The issue is - you could take legal action which will cost thousands and DAH will keep you in court for months, if not years, or you can take the money you would spend on legal action and go direct to the air con provider and upgrade the system after handover. Have you talked direct to Stinson to find out what DAH's instructions to them were? Re: Trick in the contract by Dale Alcock? 5Jan 29, 2021 3:00 pm 1. yes, garage laundry, alfresco are included in the 280m2. 2. Stinson said Dale Alcock requested them to only install 14KW and they just follow what Dale Alcock wanted. 3. Is there any customer protection office in perth that i can report to? It is not about money to me, it is about the right and wrong and I feel I am in the right asking for a complete aircon unit. Re: Trick in the contract by Dale Alcock? 8Jan 12, 2022 2:35 pm Just to add to this we have been in our new home now in Perth for 12 months. It is 320m2 total, 230m2 living, normal WA construction colourbond roof but with full anticon insulation under the roof plus insulation batts on the ceiling. Our AC is a 14kw cooling ducted Fujitsu unit and during summer it cools the entire house easily even on the couple of 40deg days we had over Christmas. I dont usually need to turn it on until 1 pm and it usually is turned off around 8pm. Our 6.6kw solar system offsets the running costs during the day. We also have heavy drapes on most windows that are closed on the really hot days.
Re: Trick in the contract by Dale Alcock? 9Jan 28, 2022 4:56 pm Our new build is 285sqm of living area (not including garage) and they've included a 20kw system. You talk about deletions, are they variations or PS and PC adjustments? pleas list them 1 17179 12 5653 The best advice is for you to get a competent building consultant to guide you through your build 7 4975 |
