Browse Forums Owner Builder Forum 1 Sep 22, 2020 10:01 pm Hi guys. I'm an owner builder and are nearing my extension completion. How ever My building inspector/surveyor has lost his license and therefore his business. I have not received any certificates for the 3 inspections all ready completed and passed. The surveyor is not answering phone calls and emails. Has anybody had experience with this or know what the next steps should be. Thanks Re: Building inspector/surveyor change 2Oct 09, 2020 12:15 am That is a hard one. But first you will need to find another surveyor who is willing to take up your project. Depending on what your extension consists of, you should have all the relevant certificates from different trades on hand. Those would be needed when you appoint your new surveyor. Once you have found one, you will need to lodge a change of surveyor to corresponding authority for your state. This will take a bit of time.
