Hi 6113 Re: Building at Willowdale 3252May 20, 2020 3:16 pm What is the difference between CDC and DA approval. My builder (Macdonald Jones) Says that I should go with DA approval. Not sure what is the reason for it. Have anybody gone through DA approval Thanks and Regards, Sai Re: Building at Willowdale 3253May 20, 2020 11:52 pm sabhara What is the difference between CDC and DA approval. Have anybody gone through DA approval Thanks and Regards, Sai Because they are stalling, DA takes longer and normally comes with more costs, example is CDC doesn't require a landscape plan, council does Re: Building at Willowdale 3255May 21, 2020 7:38 am GrahamB sabhara What is the difference between CDC and DA approval. Re: Building at Willowdale 3256May 21, 2020 7:40 am Norfolk @sabhara What reasons does MJH give you for recommending the DA approach? They said it is something to do with Garage height. Even my project coordinator was not sure why we have to go for DA approval. Pathetic people Maybe I would get more info by today Re: Building at Willowdale 3257May 21, 2020 8:13 am sabhara MJH's sales consultants will have a lot of spare time now, if they are still employed. Ask them to do their research and prepare a report comparing the DA vs CDC for your situation. This activity will help them to learn their jobs, and you to decide. Re: Building at Willowdale 3258May 21, 2020 12:26 pm Norfolk Experienced builders should know all the normal CDC, Council, Hydraulics, BASIX, BAL... etc authority requirements in the particular areas they build. If they don't the information is readily available for them online. Ask for properly researched and itemised costs before giving them more of your money. Im a new first home buyer. Where do I find such information. eg according to my land contract, my lot is not in the bushfire zone but the assessment by the builder has given it a BAL rating of 12.5 and as such, in my tender I have to pay for items that are bal rated 12.5 compliant like flyscreens, window frames etc. Re: Building at Willowdale 3260May 21, 2020 6:16 pm Hi, New to this forum, looking at building single storey house on medium size lot.
