We are waiting for tender presentation, just wondering what to benchmark kitchen upgrades provisional sum if I really (really) want the display look don't think the estimate was enough 🤔 What were yours? Thanks J Re: Building with Hall & Hart Homes 730Nov 13, 2019 10:04 pm Hi VAus, I have started the tender and waiting for presentation date. We were impressed with the quality inclusions and design flexibility, concurring with others here there are not exactly the cheapest nor priciest but we want to see what we can get within our budget.. we have a custom design so we have limited options. What stage are you on? Re: Building with Hall & Hart Homes 731Nov 14, 2019 9:09 pm HaminZa Hi All, Hope to be part of this fan club soon. We are waiting for tender presentation, just wondering what to benchmark kitchen upgrades provisional sum if I really (really) want the display look don't think the estimate was enough 🤔 What were yours? Thanks J Think about what you like about the display. If it's functional and suits your living style then go ahead. Some displays look fabulous but aren't functional. The upgrade depends on your design do you have just a kitchen or also a butler's pantry? Upgrades can be made on: Kitchen cabinets & handles Benchtop Splashback Cooktop Rangehood Sinks Taps, etc It's unlikely you'll want to upgrade everything but you'll know when you do your internal appointments. Best wishes. Re: Building with Hall & Hart Homes 732Nov 16, 2019 8:44 am Thanks SDS1 Much appreciated! I have kitchen and butlers pantry included plus the custom inclusions 40mm thk benchtop/ island, undermount sink, window splashback... just wondering about the doors finishes and handles, still undecide if I can get away with plain or needed to upgrade to match the rest! I did wanted to upgrade the cooktop but already planned adding another oven for my baking which is a must have! Hope 3k ps is enuf lol cheers Re: Building with Hall & Hart Homes 733Nov 23, 2019 11:02 pm Hello HaminZa I think 3K may not be enough if you opt for a benchtop stone upgrade - more contemporary patterns not in std inclusions will set you back 1.5-3K depending on how much of an upgrade you want. The colours and patterns in the inclusions didn't suit our colour palette which is why we had to upgrade. If the std inclusions do work for you, you'll get away with a lesser $$. Handles for doors plus cabinetry will be done in your studioyou appt. The normal inclusions were quite good. Undermount sink please consider your usage and lifestyle. Heavy pots and pans knocking the bench edge overhang of the sink (while rinsing or washing) can make the bench chip. That's why I went for overmount. You can see the overmount sink in the Soho display they have finished it well. Re: Building with Hall & Hart Homes 734Dec 02, 2019 9:32 pm Hi All, We started our journey with Hall and Hart by accepting the tender for Soho with contemporary facade last week. We started looking at our external colour selection. Our first floor facade is cladding and we are thinking of going for timber look. Has anyone stained their cladding or used any other options? If yes, roughly how much it will cost. Thanks in advance. If yes, roughly how much it will cost. Thanks in advance. Hi ks155, We are building the sienna and originally wanted the timber cladding to match the facade on the hall and hart website - https://www.hallharthomes.com.au/our-homes/sienna/ We were advised to go with a timber-look cladding that was more expensive but wouldn’t need maintenance, otherwise the stained timber cladding would require regular maintenance. The quote that came back for the timber-look cladding was much more expensive than what we could justify and we didn’t want the headache of having to re-stain the timber on a regular basis. From memory it came to over $10k for the timber-look cladding but then we had more cladding than what your facade might need (it stretched across first floor and also half of the back of the house first floor as well). I advise getting quotes for both timber stained and timber-look so you can decide whether it is worth it for you. In the end we went with painting the cladding which was not an upgrade. We opted to upgrade to some render on the facade instead and the decowood garage. Re: Building with Hall & Hart Homes 736Dec 02, 2019 10:39 pm Thanks Zen, for your quick reply. We are also rendering a portion of the front facade and going with coaba/cedar timber look garage door. Does the painting to cladding looks great? Do you mind sharing photo of your facade. Could you also clarify if you were CDC or DA. Many thanks! Trying to budget for when 10k is due and when i need finance in place for the 10% is due on contract signing.
