Browse Forums Building A New House Re: Building the Simonds Cleland 233 in SA 66May 01, 2019 11:39 am darb74 Insulation looking good, though it is pain to put in though hey. We have only been in fixing up some minor gaps etc with our wall batts, and took us 1.5 days just to get around our full perimeter with 2 lots of ceiling batts. I guess when it’s your own house you get fairly fussy though so this does slow down the process. It’s good that Simonds allowed you to get onsite to do this work, I remember when we built 10 years ago in SW Vic, our builder pretty much tried to ban us from going onsite at all! Probably had something to do with us pointing out too many issues? Anyhow looks like your build is going well, and you will appreciate the comfort of all that good insulation work. Thank You it sure is a big relief that its done it was horrible haha hmmm yeah allowed we kinda snuck in and just done it the SS didnt say anything though hes really good about those things as hes also let us get a gas point installed and even got his chippy to install another cavity slider for us so we are very lucky Re: Building the Simonds Cleland 233 in SA 67May 13, 2019 2:01 pm Sorry for the lack of updates it’s always dark when ever we get there after work so can’t really take many photos but lots has been happening ! Bricks are half way done , and house is all plastered ! Cabinets etc will Hopefully be this week?? Thanks to our great supervisor we went in this weekend and installed a couple tv cabinet wire tube kits in the walls for future wiring as we forgot to do it so he is getting that patched up. (make sure you don’t forget like us) Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Re: Building the Simonds Cleland 233 in SA 68May 17, 2019 8:27 am More updates Bricks will be finished next week, cabinets go in today and bench tops to follow! Can’t wait for the wood strapping to go on and roller door . Then we are thinking of either stacked stone on the piers or renda?? What’s your thoughts?? Yeah we have looked through pinterest its hard to find anything similar to compare it too though :/ thinking a slightly lighter stone to add some contrast or even tiles can look nice? Good luck 😀 Re: Building the Simonds Cleland 233 in SA 76Jun 11, 2019 1:46 pm Bit of a update guys Tiles have started They will be finished by this week we haven’t been there since they started on Friday so good chance it’s nearly done Rear retaining also nearly complete A little concerned on the bathroom floor tiles the fall he has created but he reckons it’s correct (we will be showing our supervisor and doing a overflow test) Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Re: Building the Simonds Cleland 233 in SA 77Jun 11, 2019 1:53 pm Bathroom cabinetry and tiles colours look good....and wow your progress is fast.
