Browse Forums Building A New House Re: Coral Homes modified Noosa 25 Far North Coast NSW 63Feb 28, 2019 3:11 pm [quote="Rhani89"]had our weekly update today. We are just waiting on our BASIX form to come to our Sales person and then if thats ok we can submit to council. Our pre-site supervisor thinks we will be in council next week We have signed tile variation. Colours came back today, no changes we just need to cross off a few things we dont want. We have had to change our roof pitch to 25 degrees to comply, we also dropped our media room window to be centered in the wall, like those picture windows, but theyre trying to charge us for some structure above the window to support it. We are waiting on a call (2 weeks now) from the estimator about this. We have been reassured this wont hold up council though Just need that BASIX to come back. Its taking sooo long /quote] Building is not a smooth process. Manage your stress with five deep breaths and in the process shift toward accepting that it will take longer than you would like and that as much as project builders try to iron out the unknowns there will always be unknowns before and during the build. Re: Coral Homes modified Noosa 25 Far North Coast NSW 66Mar 01, 2019 7:47 pm Hi Great news, all he best with the approvals What did u upgrade toilet to?? I didnt even think of this as an option Interested to Know yoour upgarde election? R the standard ones included no Good? ...and ceiling tiles seems interesting ?? We didn't think of that idea. Sounds like a massive upgrade cost$$ but will look amazing!!!, I just pinstrest it, Ha. It will be good to see the final photos Re: Coral Homes modified Noosa 25 Far North Coast NSW 69Mar 04, 2019 2:16 pm MrsAJ Looks nice. We did upgrade the toilet too but not sure which one now.its long time ago. Ceiling tiles means?? Just floor to ceiling tiles we only did this in the ensuite and went half height in the main Re: Coral Homes modified Noosa 25 Far North Coast NSW 70Mar 04, 2019 3:03 pm I thought u r tiling the roof 😜. They charged extra for the tiling person to come and tile whether we do just the ensuite or both so we thought paying extra better tile both. Now I feel we shd have tiled even the powder room as well. Did they charge you extra for full tiling (Not the tile charge) person labour to come another day charge Re: Coral Homes modified Noosa 25 Far North Coast NSW 71Mar 05, 2019 6:32 am We are building coral homes, cloncurry, we upgraded to floor to ceiling tiles 2.7 height, upgrade cost was $5000 for 2 bathrooms. That cost included the labour fee and the tiles which are a Mable rectified, which wasn't included in the standard selection package. I think it will look stunning. Did they charge you extra for full tiling (Not the tile charge) person labour to come another day charge I'm not sure about our tile cost breakdown. We are just going to ask the tiler if we can pay him cash to run the tiles to the ceiling in the main and powder room as well. Will see Re: Coral Homes modified Noosa 25 Far North Coast NSW 73Mar 13, 2019 2:56 am Rhani89 MrsAJ I thought u r tiling the roof 😜. Re: Coral Homes modified Noosa 25 Far North Coast NSW 74Mar 28, 2019 11:18 am Still waiting on Council (4 weeks tomorrow) I have my weekly update with our pre-site supervisor today; do you think they liaise with council at all to determine how much longer or how its going? We have signed all variations and have sent all documents to the bank for approvals. This waiting is killing me! Re: Coral Homes modified Noosa 25 Far North Coast NSW 75Mar 28, 2019 11:27 am There are some things that you can not control and the time that it takes council to approve a DA is one of them. Step back and be objective in the same way you would a work project - it'll make it easier and you will remain rationale throughout the build. You may already be aware that you can follow how your DA is progressing online but just in case you are not here is the web address: da.ballina.nsw.gov.au/ http://da.ballina.nsw.gov.au/ Re: Coral Homes modified Noosa 25 Far North Coast NSW 76Mar 28, 2019 1:10 pm Brad_2477 There are some things that you can not control and the time that it takes council to approve a DA is one of them. Your'e right. I just need to surrender to the process. It will happen all in good time Re: Coral Homes modified Noosa 25 Far North Coast NSW 77Mar 28, 2019 7:06 pm It’s a looong process Rhani. I was exactly the same, still am. I drop into the house everyday!! We had pci and they haven’t fixed anything on the list! So frustrating when there’s a livable house just sitting there!! It took just over 5 weeks I think for us. So shouldn’t be long now! I even emailed my presite consultant and told her we had been approved before she had been notified.
