Did M install an isolator switch along with an contactor switch to your isolater switch to allow you to turn off your cooktop? Yes, they did. Are you able to share your cost and screenshot the details of the contactor please? M is claiming that it wasn't included and not part of their standards. In Sydney at our electrical app we were told that it was mandatory and they supplied it. Even for the gas fireplace they put one in. On my electrical plan it says iso switch. The only thing we paid for was to upgrade the switch itself Re: Building with Metricon 7467Jul 08, 2018 10:23 pm Jayjay84 Renman george27 [quote="Renman"]Induction Cooktop question Anyone here got M to provision an induction cooktop? Only when I raised it the electrical company said it's not a part of their standards inclusion of the upgrade. Re: Building with Metricon 7469Jul 09, 2018 10:14 am Hi, I am new here. We are building with M and at base stage now. We had our slab pouring early this morning at 7am and our home inspector were only notified yesterday of the slab pouring time as M hae delayed a few times. Our home inspector has informed us that they have found a few issues and informed the concretor. As there was no material on site to fix the issues, the concretor callex their superior and their superior gave a go ahead with the pouring. There was no M staff there at that time. Anyone experience that? Re: Building with Metricon 7470Jul 09, 2018 4:02 pm mickym Anyone had M build with brick veneer downstairs and hebel upstairs? Yeah we have. Originally weatherboard but upgraded upperstory to hebel. Bout a $8k upgrade by memory Re: Building with Metricon 7471Jul 09, 2018 5:51 pm Who checks the electrical rough ins before bricks n plaster boards are put? We have 1wire that is missed being pulled out of the brick wall on the laundry side. But I wanted to know who normally checks that the electricals are as per the plan....is it the independent Inspector or me? Re: Building with Metricon 7472Jul 09, 2018 5:53 pm Also at what point during the build is the 1st time, the owner gets a walk through? Re: Building with Metricon 7477Jul 10, 2018 7:55 am Ducted reverse cycle heating and cooling We are building a double story 45sq house and have a question about the ducted reverse cycle heating/cooling system. We got a preliminary estimate of 29k, which seems to be about the mark. However in our plan, there isn't drop points between the first and ground floors for the return air grill only upstairs. M have told us its not needed, we are getting 2 separate units one for each floor with zoning. I thought this was suspect having know enough about this so I sought independent advice which tells me that we need at least 2 return grills downstairs to efficient run the unit and move air around. Can anyone else share their experiance/setup/process with M? Re: Building with Metricon 7479Jul 10, 2018 8:15 am We had no resistance at all. When I asked, it was a straight yes and just waited back on pricing. So not sure why they are rejecting your request. I’ve also got a mate that is about to go to site and he has done the same thing without any hassle Re: Building with Metricon 7480Jul 10, 2018 8:29 am madj-m stoff17 mickym Anyone had M build with brick veneer downstairs and hebel upstairs? They reject it because they're lazy, it takes rework with the drafting and estimates team which they'd prefer not to do. If you insist that's what you want they'll get it done. Ours was all Hebel and we were told the same thing, couldn't even have the top corner as weatherboard (to break up the elements abit). Once it went for developer approval, they came back saying we needed to add weatherboard in the exact spot we wanted (for the same reason, to break it up), and M did it 😂 Hi, First of all, thank you to this community for sharing your thoughts and opinions.
