Oh that is so true....brings back bad memories haha
The 4.58 click/send/run was brilliant of them. Think its deliberate so you don't have any chance of a immediate reply and they can argue the they don't need to respond till Tuesday the next week
Browse Forums Building A New House Re: Building with Metricon 7344Jun 15, 2018 6:31 pm 55 days is madness! I would have lost my sh1t by then! Glad your build has progressed better for you Cellaraso We had the same experience, admin stage was horrible. Miscommunication, delays and incompetence. We didn't get our post contract variations for 55 days after contact signing. The build has so far been quite smooth. 🤞 shokel1975 Has anyone who has been through the admin stage with Metricon (especially in Mt Waverley Vic) experienced excruciatingly slow response time from them? We are getting so frustrated with how long it is taking for them to come back to us with pricing for small variations. We had our electrical appointment two weeks ago and they still haven’t come back to us with the small changes we requested after that meeting. Our CSC has also taken over two weeks to come back with a small number of variations and pricing. We just want to get this to contract! We are getting so over it! So close, but still so far it seems... Re: Building with Metricon 7345Jun 15, 2018 6:36 pm zooch84 blackcat20 Admin is generally slow and messy. They also have a tendency to send things right before 5 on a Friday. Oh that is so true....brings back bad memories haha The 4.58 click/send/run was brilliant of them. Haha Re: Building with Metricon 7346Jun 16, 2018 6:28 am The delay looks a common feature. My first variation after contract took around 50 days. They could not correctly do it. So needed a second variation, they took 30 days. These are very small numer. They did ok with plans but again messed the pricing variation. Now, since the plans are right, I am wondering if I should ask for correction in pricing or not. Re: Building with Metricon 7347Jun 16, 2018 8:03 am So we should def make sure we get all variations in before final contract. I don’t imagine we will have any more variations after these ones - we have our prelim contract but are waiting for these changes to be done before receiving final contract. They didn’t even install it straight. My ss told him off. But he claims he was trying to match it with the drive way 🤨. We also need to paint it. It looks so out of place. viewtopic.php?t=86597 I actually need a temporary one while we get one build as part of the landscaping. They didn’t give it to us. We bought it cos I didn’t trust the hubby to install a stylish one in. Last time it took him quiet a few years before he put a proper one in. I wasn’t taking no chances. At least he could have done it straight. viewtopic.php?t=86597 Re: Building with Metricon 7351Jun 17, 2018 10:11 pm sandymeo Has anyone installed double glazed windows with metricon? Can you share your experience and product quality. Re: Building with Metricon 7352Jun 17, 2018 10:30 pm sandymeo Has anyone installed double glazed windows with metricon? Can you share your experience and product quality. Well worth the purchase. It definitely reduces outdoor noise and is energy efficient. Positive experience and to date one quality product Re: Building with Metricon 7354Jun 18, 2018 8:14 am sandymeo I'm upgrading my ceiling height. M said windows and doors will be upgraded automatically. Doed this mean I have to pay for the doors upgrade and Windows upgrade. What about garage height? We have a separate charge for increasing height to doors. It wasn’t included in charge to increase height of ceilings. Not sure about windows. It was never mentioned. maybe your charges have been bundled up as one? Your garage ceiling height will be same as ground floor ceiling in the house. But as you have a step down into garage it will actually end up higher. Re: Building with Metricon 7355Jun 18, 2018 8:37 am shokel1975 sandymeo I'm upgrading my ceiling height. I have a step down garage + 2.7M ceilings so my garage will be at 3M height. Re: Building with Metricon 7356Jun 18, 2018 12:06 pm hi! im new here and we've just signed our build contract with metricon. The upgrade prices are overwhelming!!! I was a bit disappointed with some stuff that were supposed to have been discussed by our SC and on items which I think should be an inclusion given that the house we're building is part of their so-called designer range. I'm so in love with the house design, i'm just hoping we get a quality build. For those in melbourne, which SS handled your build? Any recommendations? Not that we can choose our SS, but I just like to know who are good and not. Thanks! Re: Building with Metricon 7358Jun 18, 2018 12:57 pm Maybe doors are included if you increase ceilings to 2700? We only increased to 2550 and had another charge to increase doors to 2350 (or something similar). Hi Lot4503, Unfortunately its really luck of the draw, as we are building in Mandalay, Beveridge the whole street has different SM/SS per house! and there was at least 7 houses getting built by Metricon in that street alone. I thought that was a waste of time and effort. Re: Building with Metricon 7360Jun 18, 2018 1:01 pm JoseCruz Lot4503 hi! im new here and we've just signed our build contract with metricon.
