It's better than tiles, more secure, less prone to leaks etc. No chance of broken tiles. Re: Building with Metricon 7306Jun 08, 2018 6:55 pm We are looking to get a wooden decking for outdoor room. Do we really need to get the concrete landing? Metricon is charging an extra $3,000 for concrete landing that we never asked. Yep doesn’t make any sense to pay $3-$4K for concrete when you’re going to get wooden decking. Re: Building with Metricon 7312Jun 09, 2018 8:58 am Renman DRT Hi All Its great to see everyones journey here building their dream home. I am about to start that journey. I have my external and internal appointments in 2 weeks time and was hoping to get some help preparing for it. Is there any guide or materials available. I have been visiting display homes to gather some ideas. Also is there any list available of what i need to choose on the day. M doesn't have any materials available apart from the electrical price list. I am building a single storey Lexington 22 in NSW (Schofields- northwest sydney). Appreciate your help. One of the other member recommended asking the sales consultant for the contract of a display home that you like. The contract will list all the items and a rough price of what to expect for that house. This was one regret that we had wished we had done. Would have saved us so much time going back and forth. Also make sure you look or get a copy of the Metricon price guide before going to your appointment. Good luck. Hi, We have our colour appointment at the end of next week. How can I get a copy of metricon price guide? Thanks in advance, Huma Re: Building with Metricon 7314Jun 09, 2018 1:02 pm Huma Renman DRT Hi All Its great to see everyones journey here building their dream home. I am about to start that journey. In Ballarat, with a coldish winter, it would be unwise not to use an anticon blanket under a metal roof. Adds another R or so to the overall insulation of the roof, too. Re: Building with Metricon 7316Jun 09, 2018 2:13 pm Hi, Can I please get some advice. In our final plans despite requesting for wider fridge space, they have drawn up 910 mm × 690mm. We want to go for one of the new fridges with double doors, can anyone share what would be a good dimension for the cavity to fit most french door fridges. Also, before you sign final drawings (before construction commences), changing fridge space would that be considered a paid change? Thanks a ton!! Hi Drew, Do you have the colourbond roof? wouldn't the colourbond roof be colder in winter hotter in summer?[/quote]No, the temperature isn't of significance. That's why you have a whirlybird and ceiling insulation. Compared to cement tiles, Colorbond will outlast the owners of pretty much every house it's installed on, whereas cement tiles have a finite life before they start absorbing moisture and either collapse the roof, start to disintegrate or both (ask me how I know!)
