Browse Forums Building A New House Re: Building with Wisdom Homes 10787May 15, 2018 3:19 pm MandM+4, i love the colour of your feature wall in your Leisure room! I think your couch also fits in nicely, so you probably won't need to get a new one And sheer curtains will top it off nicely too! I am opting for sheer curtains as well. Have signed off on FINAL colour selections today, which makes me very nervous . Have only had 5 x PCV's and each variation, i feel bad for creating the extra work. Thank goodness my Colour Consultant is so easy to deal with! In hindsight, wish we had waited an extra month or so, so we could have experienced selections via the Canvas Quarter! It would have probably eliminated any doubts i had and bought me extra time to research (even though i have been Pinteresting for the last 6 months!) Re: Building with Wisdom Homes 10788May 15, 2018 7:33 pm GLO Happy Mother’s Day mums! Can everyone share their Contracted build time for 2 storey and do wisdom finish on time or if they blow out? Thanks My contracted time is 44 weeks for a 40 square house. Don't understand why its so long, but I hope the actual build is quicker than that. Re: Building with Wisdom Homes 10789May 15, 2018 8:10 pm I like the pics posted of the PGH truffle bricks. I was thinking of going for Espresso because I like dark bricks, but not sure whether it would go well with stone cladding. I have my selections appointments coming up soon so I guess the colour consultant should be able to advise on this. Re: Building with Wisdom Homes 10790May 15, 2018 8:43 pm Hello All, Finally got the keys today!! Super excited Some pics attached No major issues, all minor paint touchups etc fixed up between PCI and today. Some remaining things will be fixed in the maintenance period. Cheers. Our brick crew are slower than some of the other builds that have started at the same time as us but we’re still happy with the progress. Just need a few more weeks without rain to get the bricks done and the roof on! You’re only a week behind where we were at week 10. The last bit of bricking probably won’t take much more than a week id say unless there’s rain delays. Yep out SS reckons 4-5 days more of bricks once they’re back later this week so that invoice should be rolling into my inbox before long Hows everything with you? Have you settled in a bit now? I’m starting to think about post handover projects and it’s already feeling like it will go on forever! Building Wisdom Aspiration 31 at Willowdale https://ourwillowdalehome.wordpress.com/ The bricking was the slowest stage for us, although the roofs took a while with adjusting the scaffolding for the lower, portico and main roofs and the eaves and guttering etc Once internals started contractors were booked pretty much back to back. We are settling in, been living here for a week. Still a little bit to unpack, and my washing machine only got put in today so with 4 kids the house looks like a laundromat. Pendant lights and fans being installed this week but window coverings are still a few weeks away. Concreting starting tomorrow. Hubby doesn’t want to do turf and planting until the spring so will be a while until we are done but plenty to keep us busy until then. Here’s a pic of our leisure room which is the only moved in pic I’ve taken so far, after I had painted. Just need a ceiling fan, sheer curtains and a coffee or side tables to complete this room. Didn’t get new lounges as I wanted to get a feel for the room first but our old lounges don’t look too bad. Haven’t come across any major issues so far which I am so thankful for. Lots of minor issues, teething problem type stuff like- The aircon was missing a zone, they came back to fix it and one of the vents was blocked. Came back to fix that and put their foot through the ceiling 🤦♀️ The front door handle is a lever instead of bar handle on the inside and the latch is wrong, it isn’t a roller latch so the door locks from the outside without using the key. We’ve asked for this to be changed as it’s too easy to lock ourselves out. The door also lets a lot of air in so I’m going to ask them about that. Sentinel did our antennae, Clipsal did our tv points, so no one thought to connect the 2 together. Again, 🤦♀️. The boys in the household were not happy about having no TV when we moved in! The NBN hadn’t been hooked up either at that stage. But all in all our maintenance list is looking pretty simple *touch wood and we are absolutely loving the house.
So glad to hear you're loving your new home! Gee they put a foot through your ceiling, that's so clumsy. I would've been annoyed with that. Well I hope that's it for the issues & you can relax & enjoy your new home!!!! Re: Building with Wisdom Homes 10792May 15, 2018 10:09 pm ajayshekar Hello All, Finally got the keys today!!
Have you got your keys yet?
Ha funny.... I'm actually pretty annoyed at how slow our build has been lately. There has been hardly no work on our house for weeks on ends. PCI is suppose to be next week, but that's a joke! There is still so much that needs to be done, too many things to list. I haven't heard from our SS in over 3 weeks. Don't really know what's going on. We've found that nearly everything that we changed or altered on our plan there's been an issue with it. Pretty disappointing actually... Our house colours are similar colours to yours, black windows but garage & front door is in surfmist which I'm now second guessing because your dark garage looks so good!
