So, we're all moved in and we're in love with our house!!!
Still so much to do... driveway was supposed to be done earlier this week, but of course it rained 😣 so we are trying for tomorrow!
Our shutters ordered in feb were supposed to be ready for installation 2 weeks ago, but because of some delay in shipping/weather, we wont be getting them until June😯 so i have plastic drop sheets as curtains at the mo!!
Anyway, heres my kitchen 😁 that's all im willing to share until allllllll these boxes are out of the way!

@Dylandbrooke As you have moved in, can I ask you something? I see you didn't do tiling (at least in the living+kitchen). If you have done tiling anywhere else, did you upgrade to porcelain tiles? Or do you know how much it will cost if upgraded including all cost (grouting).

And, your switch boards - are they upgrade?

I only did tiling to our wet areas and i only chose from the standard range at beaumont tiles, so i cant give you an upgrade estimate sorry!
Regarding the saturn light switches, they would be an upgrade going through clipsal... and i think they are quite expensive.
We did the majority of our electrical after handover. I purchased all our saturn switches myself and an electrician installed them for me. We only did saturn switches to our main common areas, and kept the standard switches in the bedrooms, laundry, garage.

We had an attempted break in to our house early this morning while we were sleeping!!!!
I woke my husband up when i heard banging - they were trying to break in through our laundry door.
Police were called and a dog came out.
So scary - we're shaken up!

That is awful. We haven't had any problems since we have been here (and that is 4 months).
It is a lovely neighbourhood usually.

you guys don't have landscaping done yet have you? I can't believe people STEAL things from houses being built, i wonder if they just assumed the house hadn't had hand over yet. scum people!

Is there anyone else moved in on your street yet? did any one see any body?

They must have specially selected us 😕 our front landscaping isnt finished yet - maybe they thought we werent home. Not a nice welcome to the neighbourhood. Apparently it is common in new developments.

Do you have your bins yet? Maybe keep one outside near the garage so people get the idea. I realised a neighbour across from us moved in a while ago because they had bins near their front door. They have their cars parked in the driveway too, so that might help with the 'People live here you low lives, please don't break in!'

hopefully it wont happen again. maybe you should swipe a left over steel frame piece from a neighbours skip bin to sleep with We might have a few extras actually, and we have a lot of nails and screws in our yard that we could stick onto it too

Hubby has put a knife in our room 🤤 not sure how i feel about that! That's a bit scary!!!!
We have our bins here, but they arent allowed out the front of our property due to our covenance...
We also cant drive on our driveway for two weeks 😫 so both our cars are parked on the road!!! Ugh. Ugh. Ugh!!!

bestspecials fingers x'd newport is better patrolled than here where we are!
