My land is only 12m x 30m, and I am looking between Savanah and Vantage. We didn't modify the layout much at all, our land is 14x32. Where are you building? All the best with your build Re: Metricon - Savannah 34 build in Brisbane 6Apr 24, 2018 9:06 pm naleens jamesn Hi naleens, how big is your land and do you need to modify your layout much? All the best with your build I already have a lot of land in Brisbane, need to find a layout fit the lot. Should I go with 12.5m layout and reduce a little (around 30cm) or go with a 10m layout and increase it by 1.5m? Hard decision I suppose, it will depend on how much space you prefer within the house and outside. Can you build to the boundary? If you go for the 12.5m layout, you would end up with no space on the sides wouldn't you? Re: Metricon - Savannah 34 build in Brisbane 8Apr 25, 2018 12:07 pm I can build to the boundary on garage side and have 1m on the other side. Just need to be sure the width meet regulations. Let say I can fit both and want as much storage inside as possible, which way is the best? Or which way will make the best wow feeling out of the build? Thanks, naleens. I think going for the 12.5 would be the better option as it will give you more space over the 10 one - and possibly the cheaper way to alter. However, I don't know the difference in the area of the two plans to comment accurately. Best is to speak to your sales rep from the builder. Re: Metricon - Savannah 34 build in Brisbane 11Feb 07, 2019 7:08 pm Hi Shane, We are about to finalise our plans for a Savannah 34 and wanted to know how much it saves or costs to remove the wall between the stairs and the living room and open up? Can you share any pictures of what it looked like? Thanks in advance. Regards, Jennie shaneo1989 Hi All, Has anyone else built the Savannah 34? We have just started our journey. Made a few changes from the standard plans, extension to ensuite and addition of dressing room, bulk heads, remove wall to expose staircase etc... Slab - 8.8.17 Frames - 8.9.17 Cheers Shane Th Re: Metricon - Savannah 34 build in Brisbane 13Feb 07, 2019 7:27 pm Hi Shane, That looks amazing, this is the first time we have seen pictures of a real Savannah 34 Would you recommend this change having seen it in real life as it looks nice in the pictures? Are you able to share some pictures from the kitchen/living/dining/Pantry area if it’s not too much trouble? Also what ceiling heights did you end up going with. We’re deciding on fairly major changes so it’s really nice to see what a real house looks like Do you have anything you’d consider doing differently having moved in now? Regards, Jennie Re: Metricon - Savannah 34 build in Brisbane 14Feb 07, 2019 7:48 pm Hi Jennie, we definitely love our staircase and get so many compliments on it when people come over. The only thing i would recommend is if you are removing the wall to spend some money on a staircase and make it a feature piece so its not your standard carpet. We reduced the void under the stone bench (free) so you are able to tuck barstools under the bench. We did a major change within main bedroom and ensuite. Ceiling height downstairs and upstairs is both 2590. We also added doors to the pantry, with 2 young kids it would have been a constant mess and the display homes always looked so beautifully presented. We added double doors to the alfresco and added speakers to the alfresco and theatre room. We also added a LOT of bulkheads throughout the house. All in all we are extremely happy with our house and cant really think of many other things we wish we had done. Thank you so much for sharing these pictures it is nicer to see how the rooms flow and the sizing. Your house looks absolutely amazing. We were tossing up the butlers and looking at yours we’ll have to try and get that in with removing the wall as we already have nice stairs. How did you move the plumbing void originally in the living that was there on the standard plan or was it s big change upstairs? Sorry for all the questions but this is probably the best timing given where we were at and the bumpy journey we’ve had to bring this to life Warm Regards, Jennie shaneo1989 Hi Jennie, we definitely love our staircase and get so many compliments on it when people come over.
