Browse Forums Building A New House Re: First time build - Clarendon (Newcastle/Hunter Region) 3Apr 19, 2018 11:11 am Hi Salfield, I would agree with that. What we've found when doing the drive past homes (on the lists we're given as examples) is that one house in one brick looks totally different to another house in the same brick. We've found Blackheath and Espresso to be the most consistent, where-as Oprheus or Blackbutt varies quite drastically. Re: First time build - Clarendon (Newcastle/Hunter Region) 4Apr 19, 2018 7:14 pm nissy02 Hello everyone I posted this in another section but thought it would be more relevant (or accurate) in here. My name is Steve. My fiancé and I have decided to take the plunge and build our first home and we have opted for Clarendon as our builder. We purchased our unregistered block of land in November last year and it is due to be registered by June, with building to commence around late July or early August. Our plans have been finalised and we’re now at the stage of choosing our bricks in preparation for our Colour Studio appointment in 3 weeks time. Brick choosing is a lot harder and more frustrating than I ever thought it would be haha! We cannot decide between Orpheus or Blackbutt from Austral or Espresso or Blackheath from PGH. Every house with these colours looks totally different, it’s impossible to decide. We fell in love with Mowbray Blue but we are not paying the $20k premium that these command!! Here is a photo of our finalised floor plan We started with the Darley 23 & the Carlton facade. Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ The biggest change was extending the width by 1m and increasing the porch size from 800mm to 1500mm in depth. All the other alterations were pretty minor such as changing the built-ins to sliding doors, adding cavity sliding doors (en-suite & pantry to kitchen), flipping the linen cupboard so it opens into the MPR rather than the laundry as we wanted to maximise usable space in the laundry, and adding a bulkhead in the theatre room. Any-who, just saying hello and hopefully start a little discussion regarding our build of what to look out for, things to ask, tips & tricks etc. Thanks Ooh where are you building in hunter region? Re: First time build - Clarendon (Newcastle/Hunter Region) 5Apr 19, 2018 9:32 pm Chisholm Also quick question for people on here who have built with Clarendon. Can you get a credit for items you don’t use in packages? For example in our Summer of Free Sapphire package we can have a free standing bath however opted for the normal inbuilt one (practical reasons), so was thinking of having a credit from that to put towards downlights or something... Any tips or tricks for our colour studio appointment in 3 weeks? Re: First time build - Clarendon (Newcastle/Hunter Region) 6Apr 09, 2019 11:19 am nissy02 Hi Salfield, I would agree with that. Hi Nissy, I'm a new member and first time home builder and have realized that it's so hard to decide on the external combinations for a home. I was wondering if you could advise what combinations you went with the PGH blackheath bricks ? Any photos to share ? Thanks! Keen to hear from people in the area who have got KDRB done on whom they got the build from? Looking for recommendations. Thanks 0 21724 Soak wells and electrical run in happening this week! Summit has told me they will relocate the laundry plumbing after the walls are completed. I'm actually pretty happy… 13 36704 Can anyone give me any onfo on New Homes WA? Good or bad, hopefully good just need to know if my choice was good or not? Thanks ❤️ 0 9513 |
