Any experiences with Firstyle homes

Thanks for the info mate. We have a good idea what we want, so I will be pushing for the colours appointment.

Does anyone know if they have a timber flooring option when you are in colours appointment, or is it all tiles? My wife wants Timber pretty badly.

You can ask them at the internal selections appointment however they won't have the colour options available at head office. They will then direct you to their supplier warehouse to visit (post internals appointment) to select your desired flooring. The warehouse will then fire off your selections back to head office to get quoted up for you. We opted for vinyl floorplanks.

He's got a breakdown of porcelain tile upgrades and I believe he's doing flooring after handover as well.

Under the "house and land package" scenario I was told the flooring had to be done with FS however if you are contracting them separately as a Builder on your vacant land I'm sure they will be more flexible on what you can/can't do.

Yes this was the variation to the tender which includes the base build price plus all other upgrades and electricals. I also submitted window dressing and landscaping quotes and had my lender package it into the home loan.

Hey all, just wondering if anyone was able to negotiate the tender date? I feel we are going to go over, and it is mainly down to rego date being so close to the end of the tender. Rego was not over, however, I think that Firstyle calculated incorrectly.

so far our experience with firstyle has been good our build should start in January its just been approved by council i,m hoping we don't get caught out by the o.5 percent clause in contract cause our 12 months will be up around the 29th January.

what you want before you talk to sales assistant otherwise they will sell you everything we got ceiling fans in all bedrooms and down lights

heater fan for bathroom roughly 600
we had a budget of 5500 and spent 12000
i could have cut back on down lights in some areas but the clipsal person is very persuasive so you need to be strong i, should have taken my husband with me .just on downstairs was 6000

i went to have a look in tile shop at weitheril park abruzsso they don't have any prices on tiles they just tell you you have to pick from silver range if you want to upgrade they don't give you a price until it goes back to builder

Looking at building with Firstyle in Picton, NSW - land is currently going through council - hopefully registered by Feb

We are looking at building the Clovelly Distinct (on display at Gregory Hills) - though, we require a few little changes, i.e. we would like a bedroom larger, which to do would involve moving the wall forward into the dead activity space,, Just wondering if anyone had made any structural changes with Firstyle, and how much they were charged.. any examples at all will do

Also, we do not want to just go ahead and pay the $1000 to receive a tender until we know what kinda extra costs we are in for.. just wondering if anyone could provide their original base price vs what they actually paid in the end with a brief description of upgrades - we are only really after raising ceiling height, replacing tiles with laminate flooring, extending tiling to roof in main bathroom.. not much else..

Thanks for the reply. That seems quite expensive, is that because you made changes to outer structure? I'm hoping that moving a wall inside the house doesn't incur a charge like that... Their designs aren't all pre-fab are they?
