Porter Davis Upgrades and Costs

we did our contract in december but we wanted to start building by june/july....the contract said 266 days....i just way ...so should i be counting 266 working days orjust 266 days from the site cut?sry i have no idea at all

hi we are starting to build by Pd and we were given a site start date for site cut on 3rd july and slab pour on 14 th july.We are building a double story prestige bristol to be specific in clyde north.Can anyone tell me when can we expect the house to be completed as we are planning to get our parents from abroad to help us in shifting (as it will be impossible for me to do it alone with a 3 and half to look after and hubby working late hours) .

I think that's one of those "how long is a piece of string" questions. PD presumably want to build it as quickly as possible so as to get paid and move onto the next job, but there are always going to be delays for a bunch of different reasons. Even the amount of time given in your contract can stretch out, they just have to pay a penalty (probably $250 a week) if they do.

We have 234 days for a 30 square 1 story home, not sure why that is only a month shorter than your much larger two story home!

We were down at WoS yesterday to look at colours.

Whilst they are very hesitant to give prices out until our actual appointment, they did quote me on benchtops.

Category 2 = $145 per square metre
Catogory 3 = $256 per square metre
Category 4 = $355 per square metre

We upgraded to Cat 3, the cost was $1540 for the kitchen and island (no waterfall edge) and $2056 to put the same Cat 3 stone in the galley.

As standard the galley comes with no cabinetry or bench tops, just melamine shelves.

Yep...I should have stated that this is the upgrade cost - so you need cat 1 there in the first place.

The galley is going to cost us a bit to fit out...will be worth it though

It will be worth it, we almost just went with Cat 1 in the galley but at last minute I changed it to match the kitchen.

The colourtech cabinetry is an expensive upgrade if you decide to go for that I can give you an idea of the pricing for that too.

We love the cat 4 Lagoon but will fall back to Lyra if funds arent enough.

That seems quite cheap on the eaves, we had to put eaves on the front of our house to make the developer happy (nothing on the sides or back) and that cost us $1,044 and was less than a quarter of the house!

Cavity sliding doors were only $330 or so for us though going from memory, we put them in for the ensuite, study, lounge/hallway and lounge/rumpus rooms.

We raised our ceiling height as well, so all our doors are more expensive as they all need to be taller otherwise it would look funny - not something I thought of when we wanted the higher ceiling.
