Re: KDR: Metricon Signature Split Level Sloping Block 146Sep 29, 2017 7:47 pm Swung past today... tiles are finished (apart from the butlers pantry), unfortunately they've tiled the window reveals where we asked them not to... Sigh. Now I'll have to tell the guys making the plantation blinds to make them smaller. Tiles look good though, the wall tile might be a little light in colour but at this point, who cares. Re: KDR: Metricon Signature Split Level Sloping Block 148Oct 03, 2017 7:27 pm Bathrooms are getting closer to being done - all taps, showers and toilets in. Bath in today. Electrics 60% done. The electrician did a lot over the last couple of days. Obligatory terrible pics. Darn. Although small enough to get in through the windows, no-one left one open for me today. All electrics have been completed. Nice to see one billionty downlights in the living area. Site clean is booked for 2 weeks. Pre-PCI inspection pencilled in for 3 weeks time. Some heavy lifting still to do though: Final bits and pieces of tiling Carpet Install Shower screens Garage completion Ceiling insulation Front porch completion Waterproofing and drainage to the planter box Exposed agg driveway Replacement of incorrect facade window Site manager is still 'hopeful' for pre-Christmas handover. Re: KDR: Metricon Signature Split Level Sloping Block 150Oct 09, 2017 6:27 pm Ceiling insulation completed today.. I'm finally locked out. Managed to climb through a window the other day (size of a small child I am) but unfortunately they're all shut now too. Darn. Re: KDR: Metricon Signature Split Level Sloping Block 151Oct 14, 2017 3:49 pm 28 weeks later... definitely not getting site clean next week, definitely not getting pre-PCI walkthrough in one week. Absolutely none of the things that were meant to be finished by now have been, and plenty of defects to get rectified before move in. Our contract date ends on Jan 30th, my guess is that Metricon will be paying compensation. Re: KDR: Metricon Signature Split Level Sloping Block 152Oct 17, 2017 7:07 pm Finally we have a little movement again! Floor plastic has been removed from the timber in prep for site clean and polishing. Mirrors are in. We're thrilled with the bathrooms now; the ensuite is so much nicer (but not worth photographing - it's a bit difficult with the angles) with the mirror in. Site clean booked Friday. Garage meant to be finished by Friday...hmm, not too sure about that! Doubtful. They're going to have to fix a few things quick smart if they're wanting settlement by 8th December (last date for settlements apparently before Christmas). Re: KDR: Metricon Signature Split Level Sloping Block 157Oct 18, 2017 5:31 pm Ok Vantage, as requested! It is a pretty simple (read boring) house, in terms of our selections. Call it minimalist if you like, but it's a bit like us - no bells and whistles. We have some nice furniture coming as well as some artwork being made at the moment. What we love is the amount of light and passive thermal design. No air con required after 3 days at 30. Both the amount of light the house gets and the passive design was something we really wanted through the custom build process so happy that we have managed to hold onto it with a Metricon house. That’s awesome that you managed to keep the passive energy design with M. That’s one thing we didn’t manage to achieve due to the block orientation unfortunately.
