My new quilt cover. Still white, but I waned a little colour.. this one is Adairs wild flowers, looks great up close. D Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Also got the candle and the clock, but the clock needs a battery *facepalm* Just need one or two more things to finish off the side tables, probably a plant on the left hand side and some sort of tray, box or something to put my jewellery in at night. Note to self: next time.. dark brown carpet and white fluffy cats = bad idea! Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Panda trying to catch some ZZZ while I was trying to make the bed!! My poor cherry red jewellery box! This is the last thing that needs replacing in here.. not sure what to do, was thinking of trays to go in the top drawer. Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Entryway.. this room is NEARLY done.. I want a mirror for the wall (BIG rectangle one with a pretty frame), rug is on order.. and I want a big potted plant to go on the side near the window, something really big and tall and green XD .. Anyone else notice the kind of lighter white rectangle on the wall.. so weird, but that's basically the mirror! Can't wait till my desk and bookcase get here to finish this room off, the BIR is stacked with books and printer and stuff while I wait for furniture. Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Laundry.. moved the bin in here from the kitchen, bit annoying to get too but much better. And if I ever get around to putting the zip in the cat run then the hooded litter tray will go outside (doesnt fit through the door!) Still loving my floorplan and feeling that the rooms are all really good sizes. Thank gawd for my tiles because they don't show much dirt.. bu white walls are maybe not the best idea ever XD Finally feeling happy with my decorating choices.. I moved my vase and stuff from the living to the hallway, its bare but makes me happy, I'm a minimalist and clutter drives me a bit crazy. Realised I need to stop buying decor and such just to 'fill' space because I end up hating it a week later. And I also am making a point of making sure I love each item I buy individually and not just buying things to achieve an overall look. Not many big purchases left to make now (at least for 6 months or so XD) Just a mirror for the hallway.. maybe a coffee table or ottoman for the lounge.. or side tables?? And then just artwork and plants throughout.. maybe a floor lamp for the lounge.. Which is good because I've spent so much money I wasn't expecting too!! Time to start saving my pennies again Re: {Dawn} SE Melb Custom Build - Ever After 😀 2464Sep 21, 2017 5:13 pm Looking fab!! Just need some art up, easier said than done I am struggling finding art I like Re: {Dawn} SE Melb Custom Build - Ever After :) 2465Sep 21, 2017 6:19 pm Thanks CB D Yuh art is hard! I see stuff I like but don't want on my walls.. only a few I have really liked but they are all over $300 and not in my budget right now Shame because I think artwork would be the finishing touch on the house and help reduce the white glare XD I'll have a look Kat!! Loving your room, looks great Omg.. I forgot to buy the matching European pillows for my new bed set, so have to go back and get them later.. my bed needs more cushions, yours all look so good!! Re: {Dawn} SE Melb Custom Build - Ever After 😀 2467Sep 21, 2017 7:13 pm I am so in the same boat. I literally only have one artwork up and that's only because my partner's mother is an artist. Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ She is into tango so the only paintings she does are tango paintings and coastal scenery as she is from Byron Bay. I see stuff I like but I don't know if it goes with the house and furniture so I sit on it and never purchase. I need to see it!! I see lots of the owl, polar bear, deer, horse type ones I like but I think.. how long will I like that for??? I love landscapes, but fussy about them.. and then its all will this suit the house.. and art is quite expensive for the size I want!! So don't want to rush into anything. Finding it hard enough to find a mirror for my hallway. Loving this mirror.. even for the price of $171.. but its a floor mirror so can't be hung I could just lean it on the hall table against the wall, but I worry about my kitties knocking it over. I would love to find something UNDER $100. The other option is to go for one of those round ones and then put some artwork next to it, but I'm saving that for a last resort. Re: {Dawn} SE Melb Custom Build - Ever After 😀 2473Sep 21, 2017 10:24 pm Your lounge room is looking great! I really like the new cushions For mirrors, you could check out Facebook marketplace, I've seen quite a few on there! Or are you in to op-shopping at all? I'd like some fancy new stuff when my place is done, but I think I may set myself the challenge of finding bargains at opshops for some of the decorative items! Re: {Dawn} SE Melb Custom Build - Ever After :) 2474Sep 23, 2017 2:18 pm It's all looking FABULOUS! Love it. It all looks great! If Panda goes missing, I stole her. And.... BUNN-EHS! Have you seen the council standards people, or the ombudsman about the short brick on the windowsill? What happened there? Did the builders actually ever do the right thing and fix it? Re: {Dawn} SE Melb Custom Build - Ever After :) 2475Sep 23, 2017 3:00 pm Our artwork is all photos(on canvas) we have taken of where my 2 older boys live in QLD ( I used to live there too) All have meaning and look amazing. Re: {Dawn} SE Melb Custom Build - Ever After :) 2476Sep 23, 2017 7:16 pm I'm not particularly good at op shopping XD But it is a great idea, I have been checking out gumtree for some furniture. I returned one of the couch cushions (the sandy coloured one), hated the texture!! Thanks Jaya! Hehe.. a lot of people want to steal Panda!! That's why she's an indoor kitty only. Nah, they haven't come to fix it or anything. I also took some video of the gutter overflowing so I can show them the issues. I'm going to be raising all of this stuff at the 3 month inspection, and whatever they don't fix I'll probably get my dad to. That's a great idea!! I love the idea of canvas pictures with meaning. I had a canvas done of my dog when she passed from a photo, which will go in my study. Re: {Dawn} SE Melb Custom Build - Ever After :) 2477Sep 23, 2017 7:19 pm So I forgot to get the European pillows the other day when I bought my new bed set, so I went back today to get them.. nearly died!! $40 for each pillowcase!! And then they wanted another $40 for the pillow. Psh.. I ended up buying the cases, but thankfully they were on sale for $30 each (Still too expensive!!) and then I went to Kmart and got the pillows for $12 each. Love Kmart D Re: {Dawn} SE Melb Custom Build - Ever After 😀 2478Sep 23, 2017 8:32 pm Euro pillows are not cheap!! The cOvers are so overpriced. I love the doona cover, it's so pretty! Adds some colour to the room too. I really love the blues you're using. I have nothing coloured yet I will wait til I move in Love your choices!! Re: {Dawn} SE Melb Custom Build - Ever After :) 2479Sep 23, 2017 8:40 pm Good idea to wait, I wish I had waited on some things a bit longer. My biggest lesson has been not to rush into buying anything and to only buy pieces I love, rather than buying things to suit other things. Re: {Dawn} SE Melb Custom Build - Ever After :) 2480Sep 23, 2017 10:50 pm Kmart's homewares section is really fantastic. You can get some really nice pieces.
