How did you find the electrical part? I am going nuts with the amount of down lights that I need and pricing on that. viewtopic.php?f=31&t=89393 We allocated a little bit more than the suggested electrical allowance on our contract. So when we did do our electrical it came short than whst we thought we'd spend. We allocated 12k but we actually only need a bit over 10k, so there wasn't a big surprise when we had our appointment. If we did go over I would have tried to stay within the 12k budget. Re: Building a Clarendon parkhill 29 in Brisbane 49Sep 16, 2017 7:39 am elleimac kishore Following this thread . I will update my thread this week end.. Re: Building a Clarendon parkhill 29 in Brisbane 50Oct 10, 2017 1:09 pm It's great to see that you are building at Newport, we are too. We are waiting on our land registration too and it is supposed to be this month and settlement in November. Fingers crossed. We are building with a lowset with Coral and have a 400m2 block. I haven't started a page yet as not really much to report. Will be good to see how everyone else's Newport builds go and what soil classification everyone comes in with. Re: Building a Clarendon parkhill 29 in Brisbane 51Nov 13, 2017 6:56 pm Just thought I'd update this post. Clarendon decided on Friday that our soil test came back E and they don't build on E soil- which I never knew since when I asked how much to go from H2 to E I was told 10k, as I knew it was a possibility. They are also saying I can't have my full deposit back. Just a heaps up to anyone else who is thinking to build with them. Iv spoken to a heap of other builders the past 3 days and all will build on E. so I'm not sure what's going on with Clarendon. Re: Building a Clarendon parkhill 29 in Brisbane 52Nov 14, 2017 8:29 am Such a bummer - did Clarendon give a reason why they won't build? Our SC said it depends on the soil test and the depth of fill etc as to if they would build or not. Who else have you been talking to? We had a quote for Metricon - Mason which is kinda like the Parkhill and with some changes it was competitive price wise. And the lady we were talking with at Newport was awesome. Re: Building a Clarendon parkhill 29 in Brisbane 53Nov 14, 2017 9:12 am Hi Rebekah, Didn't realise we were in the same facebook group. We only paid a deposit of $1750 to Coral when we signed up and that included the soil test. So, I don't see why Clarendon can't refund you all but the cost of the soil testing. Hope you can find something even better soon. Gai It is Genneral stairs, but they won't deal with anyone off the street. They will only work with clients of project home builders.
