For today just two of them, the younger one is apprentice. So the older guy is one and only fully qualify brick layer. As usual I did had a little chit chat with brickie and he seem very nice guy. Also offer an address for me to check on his previous jobs so that I have total confident on his works. I will take that offer and check it out. He is the dark skin version of "Dwayne Johnson" oh man I could not help myself looking at tattoos on his neck. LOL Build Thread : viewtopic.php?f=31&t=81624 Re: KDR Sekisui House - St George 665May 25, 2017 2:54 pm HAHAHA Dwayne Johnson. Definitely not the brickie I had then, but man... bet you will be visiting everyday then!!! HAHA Re: KDR Sekisui House - St George 666May 25, 2017 3:18 pm We had a team of about 5 i assumed they all laid the bricks but maybe they didn't, explains the slow pace if it was just the old guy that was doing it all. Knowing the job will take a few weeks to complete with out rain. Now that he is the only brick layer I will be praying every day he is in good health and safe. Build Thread : viewtopic.php?f=31&t=81624 Re: KDR Sekisui House - St George 669May 25, 2017 10:40 pm No matter what they reckon about apprentices etc. they HAVE to teach them how to lay one day and I had no problems if they got hands on. How else would they learn... Actually I'm abit curious now. Did your Dwayne Johnson have short spiky hair and was not heaps tall? Cos if it is the same dude I want to drop him a case of beer or 2. Sort of missed the chance, didn't think they'd be gone already Re: KDR Sekisui House - St George 670May 26, 2017 6:18 pm Our neighbours had brickies on site this morning. I only saw two... No idea who they look like! But I waved to them as the guys who were there before doing bricks knew us (or at least our house!) I wonder if they are just trying to get to many sites rather than having a large team per site (to reduce the customer questions) Re: KDR Sekisui House - St George 672May 27, 2017 3:25 pm Cleaner than ours, looks like the apprentices have been let lose on ours!! I'm hoping after it's cleaned up it will look better. Our Acacia build - http://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?t=86619 KDR Sekisui House - St George 673May 27, 2017 5:07 pm Looking good shazaw! Not sure I even saw those string things at my site. Re: KDR Sekisui House - St George 674May 28, 2017 2:45 pm Looks great! We are very happy with our brickwork, although I couldn't tell you whether they are the same guys or not. Didn't get that close a look! Re: KDR Sekisui House - St George 678May 30, 2017 7:15 pm Looking good! So pleased for you. Our brickies have disappeared, we have had no action for 2 weeks now Our Acacia build - http://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?t=86619 Re: KDR Sekisui House - St George 679May 30, 2017 8:54 pm ehhc What was in your backyard before? Looking great shazaw. Having bricks up seem to add so much 'volume' to the home hey Lots of weeds up to my hip. Some wild tomato plants with fruits on it, some time I get to pick tomatoes eat on spot. I don't mind if they are slow but as long as they do bricking nicely. After seeing so many bricking not line up at joints or uneven mortar. Build Thread : viewtopic.php?=31&t=81624 Re: KDR Sekisui House - St George 680May 30, 2017 9:16 pm Yeah agree. Not overly long to cause delayed, but spend the time to do it properly better than a rushed handover. That's a big bonus to have the site maintained We were lucky in that our old house was so small (86 square metres) compared to the new house, they were able to take enough readings around the old backyard house before… 8 37160 The biggest challenge will be if you take out a loan and then run out of money - you'll have an incomplete security and lenders do not like this so you can get stuck.… 2 19114 Hi, I am looking into doing a KDR in Melbourne and am contemplating using Kialla Homes. I am looking for feedback on them from others who have built with them. 0 13449 |
