I prefer evaporative aircon ( ok I dislike refridgerative aircon a lot. I will still be opening windows. tough! Don't even ask me to consider a split system. I'd rather suffer the heat. ) but we've noticed the preference locally seems to be refrigerative and that perhaps since we are no longer living near the coast this might be something I might have to "suck it up and get over" ( my words not Dh's) . Our local people recommended fujisu over daiken they said the daiken unit worked abut about 2 k more for something that wasn't a better system.
We are looking at paying around 12k for the largest domestic type unit available. This is for one with 6 zones. Edit: we went to visit another aircon place today ( sat the 21st)that also sold fujisu and several other brands. the guy told use that warranty on the fujisu and the daiken were identical. he also said there wasn't a lot of difference( only slightly in quality between the top 5 aircon brands. His top was fujisu( he didn't sell daikens) we will be checking out daikens as well within the enxt few weeks. The fujisu's also come with a thichker than the min standard insulation on their ducting. research continues. Re: Help needed choosing the right air con 10Feb 21, 2009 9:00 pm Lisa are you in melb? if so the gas ducted heater is much better for you with add on airconditioning rather than reverse cycle gas ducted heating is cheaper to run and heats your house a lot quicker other states like perth and sydney you will find they go the reverse cycle because their climate isn't as cold as melbournes winters. How do you remove one of these ceiling air con vents? And is it possible to disconnect the duct joined to the vent from inside the house, without going into the roof cavity? 0 6495 Hi all, sorting out the ducted air con for a 350sqm double story house.
