I think it would just give it a better look. Might make the entrance a bit smaller. But I reckon it would look better. Also this might be just me. But just in case you might like this idea. Have you thought of putting two way bathroom for the two last bedroom? Just a thought depending weather you like that or not? I really like how you got that storeroom. That's a great idea . You walk in pantry is huge. Love it. Also I would put stacker doors also in the dinning. I think it would give it a better look. How big is it? 46? Or did you make it bigger? viewtopic.php?t=86597 My husband was saying the same thing about the guest room not lining up. We wanted double doors at the front (which they've forgotten to put). Not sure if it will fit though if they increase the width. Will have to ask. And it is supposed to have stacker doors not sliding. Another thing they forgot. My build - viewtopic.php?t=87470 I think the front doors to have double is usually 820mm each. I'm surprised they didn't line it up for you to begin with. Or tell you it was a better option? Yeah you got to stay on top of things. Cos they will leave a lot of things out. It always happens. viewtopic.php?t=86597 Re: Metricon Vantage 6Apr 20, 2017 8:36 pm Depending on how big the door frame. If you get the average 820 you should be able to put double doors there. Which is what I was thinking too. It will give the impression that the entrance is bigger. viewtopic.php?t=86597 Metricon Vantage 7Apr 20, 2017 9:59 pm looks great Emmy. Hoping it won't be long till you start building. Start listing every queries or variations on a spreadsheet, get them to respond/reply on the spreadsheet. This way you cal track everything and then you get the updated variations you can cross it off the spreadsheet. We found this to be the best method as things would get lost in email threads. This is what we've been doing so good to know we are on the right track. Our sales consultant sometimes doesn't respond to everything on the spreadsheet but will push him hard to do so from now on. We are meeting up with him tomorrow to discuss stuff for the preliminary contract. My build - viewtopic.php?t=87470 Re: Metricon Vantage 9Apr 20, 2017 10:20 pm One thing I am stumped with. Where the heck am I gonna put towel racks? I don't see any spaces next to any of the showers (except the main upstairs bathroom which we asked for the bath to be removed and to put two vanities and increase shower size slightly so there should be space next to that shower theoretically. My build - viewtopic.php?t=87470 Keep using the spreadsheet, it will be even more useful with you have to deal with your CSC. We had a list over 200 items filled with queries and changes. My build - viewtopic.php?t=87470 Yes. I see your concerns. There's only a small space next to the WC in your main bathroom for a hook to hang your towels. My build - viewtopic.php?t=87470 Re: Metricon Vantage 14Apr 21, 2017 12:53 pm We had same problem. You could do what we did and put a heated towel rail on the wall to the left (or right of the bath), and a hook on the nib wall next to the shower. Just remember to put your towel on the hook before you get in the shower! I'm planning to ask if we can swap the vanity and the bath around (so I can have a bigger vanity mirror and a bigger window). Your idea of towel racks above the bath will work even better then. My build - viewtopic.php?t=87470 Re: Metricon Vantage 16Apr 21, 2017 1:51 pm I know there has to be a limit on changes as you can go overboard and it adds up quickly, but one thing we did and don't regret, was adding a 'mudroom'. We extended our garage with the workshop option, but we also widened it on the house side. This meant we had a mudroom with a cupboard for coats and shoes when you came in the house. Looking at your plans, you could widen your garage (assuming you have room on your block) and turn the broom cupboard around. We also built with M too and cost $3,850 to widen the garage from the house. We also put in a laundry sink and cupboards as well. The extra storage space in the garage is fantastic too. We have actually widened the garage so our shoes will go along the side or the back. My build - viewtopic.php?t=87470 For our ensuite we just added a shelf going right across under the vanity where you can put towels under. If you can't put towel racks there that might be another option for you. viewtopic.php?t=86597 Metricon Vantage 20Apr 21, 2017 6:08 pm Your plan is really nice Emmy. You should be able to fit a double front door (820mm wide each door) if you forfeit the side windows on each side of your door.
