Just a couple of minor things that we added after our selection which was not included at tender. But nothing major. We took tomorrow off so hopefully it will also go for less than two hours and have the rest of the day to ourselves! lol Re: We are building VANCOUVER 33 with PORTER DAVIS 186Apr 12, 2017 12:16 pm All going well it shouldn't take to long. Let us know how it goes Good luck. Re: We are building VANCOUVER 33 with PORTER DAVIS 188Apr 12, 2017 12:24 pm Nope, our fault though not PD. The bank is delaying everything. Re: We are building VANCOUVER 33 with PORTER DAVIS 189Apr 27, 2017 10:23 am Hey Liz / Nikki, how are we? We signed our contract a couple of weeks ago, everything was pretty straight forward. It was just annoying because there was a few things we raised at tender that wasnt included at contract. So we are waiting for them to provide the PCV. How's your Vancouver Liz? All settled at home? How about you Nikki? Have you got a site start yet? Re: We are building VANCOUVER 33 with PORTER DAVIS 190Apr 27, 2017 3:34 pm Sgene85 Hey Liz / Nikki, how are we? Hey how are you!! we are good, finally in, and enjoying every min of it. we have done so much work in two weeks! All our down lights, fans, dimmers and extra power points in, skirts all painted and installed over floorboards to avoid quads. Driveway and sidepath, plus the entire house 85% unpacked ha oh and foxtel is in! It hasn't stopped but everything is falling into place. All of our new furniture has arrived and we are totally in love! I just posted two pics on the other topic! it was of the sheers and now that i think of it, I think it was you I wanted to show because we were discussing it. Glad to hear contract went well, and im not surprised to hear that becasue we too had the same issues. How long has you been waiting for the PCV? I was interested to see how you were going also Nikki, given its now the end of April i'd hoped that you guys got your wish and finally started? Re: We are building VANCOUVER 33 with PORTER DAVIS 191Apr 27, 2017 3:58 pm Hey Liz! I'm good thanks. That's awesome. It must be a relief to finally be in your house! I saw the photos from the other post, your dining area looks awesome! So that the sheer you got installed from Hans? did you get any blinds on the other areas by any chance? Also, the flooring looks fantastic! Food must taste extra delicious eating at that dining area! Any pics of the rest of the house like kitchen? I'm curious to see how the subway tiles look like Well, our contract was on April 13, so I guess we've been waiting for 6 business days taking into account the public holidays. Liz did you upgrade the ducted gas heater? Does it matter if the unit is a 3 star or 6 star? We went to the home show at the exhibition centre on the weekend and saw one of the heating guys... They said 6 star rating heater would be worth doing at the start of the build as it cuts energy bills. I dont really know as to how many stars the PD inclusion has, so I guess we'll just have to go with the flow. Re: We are building VANCOUVER 33 with PORTER DAVIS 192Apr 27, 2017 4:00 pm Hi Guys, still no start for us, there was a massive miscommunication between the bank the broker and us. If I was to do it again I would definitely cut out the middle man as he has given us so much wrong information and also hasn't passed on documents to the bank that the bank were waiting for (like the contract for one, anyone would know that's a pretty important part!) so that has put us way behind, we should hopefully be going to council for approval early next week and then it all just depends on the council, I know all the neighbours are fine about our build so at least that's one thing on our side, also we are building a single level home so it will be the same as every other house on the street. We have just moved into a rental on the same street as our block, 4 houses away to be exact so when it does eventually start I'll be nice and close to watch it Liz, delighted you are finally in and settled and enjoying your new home, long overdue for you and much deserved. Sounds like a shocking job by your broker, good luck with the loan approval and then council! Wow you're going to be super close to your build, hopefully it all goes smoothly for you and at least if there are any issues you can get there pretty quick to discuss them! Thanks Hurrow, yea it's been very stressful and just annoying. Everything is all approved and should all be fine now. Hopefully PD can submit the plans to council soon! The did the second soil test last Friday so they would have the report by now. I haven't heard anything yet. Glad to hear thank you! we have furnishings on every window haha if you mean the blinds though, no we only have the sheers in that area. The shutters are amazing! and the quality of the rollers and romans are really really good. I tell you what blinds totally transform your house. Yes ill get some more pics over the weekend when we clean and get things in order Not that i recall, i remember just being whatever was included and it works. its so nice and toasty and heats the entire house very well. I am sure you could invest in something 6 star but i suppose thats more outlay and i really dont know how much it would save given you use for maybe 4 months of the year. Summer will be interesting to test out the cooling. Grrrrr that frustrates me so much! plz dont put any of that blame onto yourselves, your broker should be across all of this and I am sure they have done this before if they are good at what they do. I hate brokers! they provide more often than not a horrible service causing more stress than necessary to their customers. Being a lender direct to a bank i see this daily, your paying a broker to do their job, they should know what they are doing leaving you feel confident in your decisions and knowing where you stand at all time.. I am sorry you guys are going through this as the bank side of things should be simple and the least of your worries. It sounds to me like they are just lazy. CBA were very quick to act for us, so knowing that you too are dealing with them i can suspect its all ur slack broker. Sorry for rant! I get passionate about customer service haha Hopefully council is just straightforward and you dont have any rediculas dispensation requests. eg like not enough light into a certain bedroom.. we had that and cost us 4 weeks. Keep us posted! Re: We are building VANCOUVER 33 with PORTER DAVIS 197Apr 27, 2017 5:02 pm You know you've hit the nail on the head there! This is their job! This is what they do Day in day out, so of course we thought he was all over everything and doing things right. I can't think of anything the council will object to... but who knows haha Re: We are building VANCOUVER 33 with PORTER DAVIS 198Apr 27, 2017 5:05 pm nikil You know you've hit the nail on the head there! I can't think of anything the council will object to... but who knows haha exactly! go direct to the bank next time we are much more helpful! we couldn't either, ha which is probably why they came back with something so dumb.. it probably depends on the person reviewing and dependent on what kind of day they are having. have you called council yourself to get an idea on approval times? they will be able to give you a realistic time frame. Re: We are building VANCOUVER 33 with PORTER DAVIS 199Apr 27, 2017 5:07 pm No I hadn't even thought of that, good idea. That will at least give me an idea.
