Hi,
I seem to have a great many problems trying to cut a straight line with a jigsaw. It always wants to veer off line, the blade seems to bow. I find myself lifting the jigsaw's base off the timber to force it to cut along the pencil line but this doesn't give a satisfactory cut. It usually also ends up cutting on a downward angle that isn't at a right angle. I don't know if I need a higher end machine, because this has happended with 2 different jigsaws. Also I'm lefthanded and maybe jigsaws are designed to be cut by right hand (like most things in this world!!) Any tips welcome, cheers

For further accuracy on straight cuts, a wider jigsaw blade is less likely to curve outward during cutting. Also, use a slower blade speed. Slower speeds generally allow more accurate cuts.
