Browse Forums Building A New House Re: Building at Willowdale 2808Dec 14, 2016 9:40 pm bucksaver SkB Hi, we just purchased land in stage14. Registration is in June 2017 as well. But according to contract the registration is March 2017. I believe we're on Willowdale drive with a BAL rating of 12.5. Hopefully doesn't increase. Has anyone with land registration in 2017 starting looking at builders yet? I've been getting calls from a no. Of builders advising of a price increase soon. Just not sure whether to buy it or not. Regards I am also in market looking for builder but the problem is registration is too far so still you won't receive fixed price contract. They will increase the contract price at time of construction. Hi There are some builders who will give you fixed price contracts like coral homes, edenbrae Hope it helps Thanks Re: Building at Willowdale 2809Dec 16, 2016 9:34 am Hi everyone, been stalking the page for last few months but never thought of commenting. Got lot 1557 in stage 15A and can't wait for registration to get things started. Looking forward to meeting potential neighbors Re: Building at Willowdale 2810Dec 16, 2016 11:55 am Hi everyone, I'm new to this. Just got a house and land package. How do I know which stage I'm in? My lot is 1481. Rego is meant to be in June 2017. Does anyone know if there have been delays for any of the other stages? Where do you go to find out this kind of info? Re: Building at Willowdale 2811Dec 17, 2016 6:43 am Does anyone know if Campbelltown council require you to have frosted glass on bathroom windows? We haven't requested it but it's been put into our tender anyway by Wisdom as a council requirement. When we asked they said they do that for everyone but couldn't actually tell me if it's a Campbelltown requirement. We have another clause saying we have to provide shading devices on all western windows too - we have two backsplash windows on our western wall and I'm not keen on having to put awnings on them, I would rather just delete them. Anyone have any experience with that? I've not found any references to either requirement in the SEPP documents that cover us in Campbelltown. I don't want to ignore it now to find we have issues getting our occupancy certificate at the end of it all. We just got our approval with campbelltown council but nothing such had to be done we already chose to glaze the bathroom window apart from that nothing had to be changed. All the best with your building Re: Building at Willowdale 2813Dec 17, 2016 5:06 pm Mrs RS We just got our approval with campbelltown council but nothing such had to be done we already chose to glaze the bathroom window apart from that nothing had to be changed. All the best with your building Thanks Mrs RS. We want to put shutters in the bathrooms so I feel like paying to frost the windows too is just a waste of money. Congratulations on getting your approval! I know you've been waiting a while. Nice early Christmas present there and that should mean next Christmas you're celebrating in your new home Re: Building at Willowdale 2814Dec 17, 2016 7:05 pm So today we met with Metricon and they're offering HEBEL full exterior render as part of the promotion. We were asked what we want; HEBEL or bricks, I've done some research but can't really decide. has anyone used HEBEL in their house construction for exterior render? Any inputs really appreciated. When we were talking to different builders Clarendon had a similar promo and the sales guy said he refused to push it because it was much easier to damage than brickwork if it gets knocked. He was going to give us a $10k colours credit instead. It's becoming a common promo because of the delays in getting bricklayers. We were also put off because it would mean a fully rendered house which needs more maintenance than brickwork (annual cleaning, reprinting, cracks are more obvious than bricks). I guess if we go with bricks then our build time will be comparatively more too. I read your blog and your experience of buying land. Are you opposite the dog park or the creek? We're opposite the creek. Can't wait for the roads to go down and to be able to go and see what our view will be like out the front. I have a feeling its going to be more like brown scrubland than the green oasis I had in my mind when we picked the land lol! We were down there yesterday looking at bricks and the whole of Willowdale just felt like a dustbowl. I came back and decided we needed to research DIY irrigation for when we do our landscaping. I'm trying to document everything on the blog because I found so little to read when we started this and I like to research everything to death! Did you make a call on Hebel or bricks? Wisdom don't have a promo for Hebel so Im glad we didn't have to make that choice. I've heard it only takes a few days to put up Hebel across an entire home. I would have been so tempted for the time saving (especially now my husband and I are struggling to agree on bricks!). Re: Building at Willowdale 2819Dec 30, 2016 9:19 pm We've decided to go with bricks as no evidence of Hebel being a superior product. Infact I've read cracking and ongoing maintenance are common issues. We're tendering with M at the moment, have asked them if we can get a credit for not using Hebel. I agree research is very important specially for 1st home builders like me. I just finished reading the "Building with M" forum. We're waiting for the road to be built as well. We're opposite the creek too and very close to the proposed school and childcare (of which there are no signs). Re: Building at Willowdale 2820Jan 03, 2017 2:04 pm Happy New Year all!! Hope everyone is well & looking forward to more Willowdale updates this year. Question for anyone who has done owner builder in Willowdale.. Do you know where to find the minimum setback requirements for building? Stockland keep telling me to look at the Section 88b but it definitely has no information about that in there. I have also called Campbelltown Council & they cannot tell me if there is a difference between single storey & double storey setbacks? We have a corner lot & a 90mm restriction with our neighbour (which I have no issue with) only if they want to take more from us from that side or even the corner.. Anyone with more information would be really helpful Thanks Hey guys building a new place through a volume builder and just wondering if i should complain to the site supervisor as we just had plasterboard installed. Looks like… 0 11918 Elvis has left the building... The site supervisor quit after 2 month on the project. I guess he was just instructed to bark at people, but didn't like when he was… 26 21793 |
