Part of the plan of installing something like this is to allow for some maintenance to be done every six months or so. People think installing a gutter protection device is the be all and end all of any clogging problems. It ain't. It will go a long way to keeping your gutters free of debris but you still need some basic cleaning every once in a while to remove any sludge that builds up on the bottom of your gutters. However the gutters have mesh over them and a couple of gutter cleaning companies I've called have recommended I pull it up and get rid of it.
