I also loved that house in Coffs, I think the way they did the laundry and butler's pantry was clever. Hope it all goes well. ~Shellby~ GJ Bridgewater 203 11/3/2016 - Site Work Started 29/9/2016 - Handover 142 Work Days 6 Work Days Over https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=80174 Re: Our First Build - GJ Gardner - Springfield Lakes 3Jun 15, 2016 9:56 pm Thanks Shellby. Any day the the final plans should come back. We signed off on our quote yesterday! Here are a couple of renders I did, couldn't work out how to get the glass or lighting to work properly, but the idea is there The grey is meant to be a dulux pluto metallic glass splashback for the sides of the window and behind rangehood Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ This is the kind of open plan living we will have: Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Kitchen layout without splashback and floor tiles: Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ very quick mock of how the study will be with wooden posts: Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Backyard view looking into the house: Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Re: Our First Build - GJ Gardner - Springfield Lakes 4Jun 15, 2016 10:21 pm Very nice Ads!! No reply from them for over a week ! We even let them know we are up in the area..nothing. Hopefully our plans come back Correct this week. While we checked out our block we decided to have a look at second choices for builders just incase as we are really struggling to keep them on! Will post some photos of the block when we are back home. Though the delays are in favour for now as I just got stung $4k in tax.. gotta to save that money back asap Re: Our First Build - GJ Gardner - Springfield Lakes 8Jul 03, 2016 7:37 am That sucks that GJ aren't really cooperating How did you go looking at other builders designs? Come across anything in case GJ don't work out? Ouch!! $4k GJ Gardner Modified Coolum 277 viewtopic.php?t=83643 Re: Our First Build - GJ Gardner - Springfield Lakes 9Jul 03, 2016 8:15 am Hey Ads, great to find your thread. Your changes to ceiling and extra floor space will make a huge difference for livability. Do you know the product code for your kitchen sink? Much more prefer it to the one we were shown. We found the final plans, engineer's plans, contract and now bank valuation quite a drag. The staff have been great during this time. Looks like there's a few of us around similar stages of starting our builds - hopefully it's smooth sailing for us all. Re: Our First Build - GJ Gardner - Springfield Lakes 10Jul 04, 2016 7:25 am Hey Charli, we looked at double stories as after being on our block we noticed we would have lake views with a double story, but most likely its out of budget . My heart is set on the Stillwater. Thanks hazza! Yeah we got the inspiration from the two Stillwater display houses about the roof heights. We quickly learned that nearly everything you like is an upgrade during the colour selection We went into a Reece store after colour selection and sat down with a consultant who went through all our options and we chose further upgrades and then let our sales consultant know. We found it helpful as it's hard to visualise from a photo. Prior to contracts I hear back within minutes and post contract it takes a day or two. I love GJ but I would be worried about lack of contact with you. I left two other builders previously for similar issues. Re: Our First Build - GJ Gardner - Springfield Lakes 13Jul 04, 2016 8:58 pm I'm like Towns, since signing a contract and the build starting, communication is lacking and really disappointing. It was going well as we had made friends with the office lady, but then she moved on and now we rarely hear a thing sadly. ~Shellby~ GJ Bridgewater 203 11/3/2016 - Site Work Started 29/9/2016 - Handover 142 Work Days 6 Work Days Over https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=80174 Re: Our First Build - GJ Gardner - Springfield Lakes 14Jul 05, 2016 11:58 am I feel for you shellby. It's honestly not hard to reply to an email/phone call. Here's hoping things pick up for both of us . The neighbour will need to build a retaining wall along the side of ours as the fall is on his side lot. Re: Our First Build - GJ Gardner - Springfield Lakes 18Jul 06, 2016 6:30 am *update* we got our new plans back which we are finally happy with! She apologised for the delay as she has been out with the flu and also been training the new hire. From memory she advised that we need To sign/initial each page of the drawings/colour selection. Is this correct? What about the engineering drawings, or is this at the contracts time? Re: Our First Build - GJ Gardner - Springfield Lakes 19Jul 06, 2016 6:45 am That's awesome!! Did you change much from your floor plan above? Once you're happy they send the final plans off for engineering and basix, so if you're happy with the colour selections/variations initial each page so they can start on the contract and send your plans off, ready for your contract. I'm not sure if that info is correct but that is my consultant explained it to me when I was signing my contract because we have done things differently she explained it should have gone like above GJ Gardner Modified Coolum 277 viewtopic.php?t=83643 Re: Our First Build - GJ Gardner - Springfield Lakes 20Jul 06, 2016 7:46 am Thought I'd come by and checkout your plans, love the courtyard and alfresco spaces and the positioning on your block should give you a lot of natural light Oh and noticed you're from Sydney, we just moved up from the Central Coast about 10months ago too. When are you planning on making the move? May I ask why you chose not to use GJ Gardiner? I'm actually meeting with one of the sales guys tomorrow for an appointment.
