Browse Forums Kitchen Corner 1 May 07, 2016 9:43 am Thanks...I wasn't actually considering a Hamptons kitchen as I feel they are too 'in'...and my last kitchen had shaker doors so I wanted a change. However, some of those kitchens are very classic and beautiful so I'm now considering shaker handle less doors. Are shaker doors much more expensive than flat panelled? And, do you think shaker doors for the wall cabinets would look odd with flat panelled drawers for the base units? Just thinking of options as I'm mixing wood look with white units... Re: Hamptons Kitchen Design Tips 2May 07, 2016 1:05 pm Yes shaker doors are a lot more expensive than flat panelled doors. They would add around $3000 to the price of an average kitchen. Everyone will be asking for it. They should be asking for shaker doors, as the cabinets behind are still the same for a plain panel door or a shaker door. I received my drawings a little while back, and whilst I dislike cooking, I'm very pleased with having a practical kitchen to make it easier.
