How many lights ?

Hi everyone, I'm new here and wondering how many lights are normal to have in a house, how many lights do you have in the interior and exterior ? we are building, haven't started yet but are in the electrical planning stage and don't want to go overboard or not enough !! Please advise how many lights are normal in a 270 sqm of interior living space thanks

depends how many rooms. It's really a case by case basis

You need to post up your plan for others to comment properly. A bedroom for instance may only require one decent central light whereas a kitchen may need ten suitably placed.

Thanks for the replies, can someone please post me a link of where or how I upload a photo, I tried tapatalk before but had a hard time.Also there is 4bedrooms,study, formal family,dining, theatre and family room

1) Upload your photos to an image hosting site like Photobucket.
2) Click on your photo that you want to post here.
3) Locate the IMG tag under "Share Links" on the right hand side of the photo.
4) Click on that IMG code line and copy it.
5) Paste that into your post here then hit the submit button.
If you have a smart phone then using Tapatalk etc for a direct upload here is probably easier...

Just post up the main floorplan. It'd be easier just to upload one rather than 10 individual photos.

We added 40 LED downlights to 5 provided by the builder to 30sq house when asking for tender, and know what? We are to add at least 5 additional to that number before building commences.

Building a 30sqm house and we have 75 LED downlights to install, including across facade, alfresco and laundry

We are building a 22 square single storey home and have added 36 LED downlights to the plan - some of these downlights will be in the exterior, such as the alfresco area and front porch. There will also be 5 fans with lights to be installed in all four bedrooms and the study. Hope this helps!
