We are looking at the same dining table.
Are you happy with yours, is it holding up well?

I'm so happy with it ? Only 1 downside. The chairs are heavy so people tend to slide them out instead of lifting them properly. They chairs do have protective rubber feet under them but they're still scuffing my timber floor. I have to put some felt pads under them I think to prevent the scuffing.

We receive so many complements on it.

I do look after it though ie we always use a tablecloth and never put hot things directly on the table or tablecloth. I always use a tablecloth when we are eating and I have coasters for cups/glasses. For what this cost me I don't want it to be damaged!

It's such a heavy piece of furniture, it really is quite a solid piece which I feel is well worth the money. If it is looked after it should last a lifetime.

We were looking at different chairs however good points on scratching floor, as we will have bamboo

We have finally almost finished our front yard - it's only taken us almost two years!

Paving for the path beside the garage completed today. It's still a little wet in areas in these pics. I need to finish it off with plants and rocks and then the front is FINISHED! Actually, we do also want to put a front fence and gate in at some stage but no hurry for that.

So happy with the landscaper. I want to get him back to do some things in the backyard once we finalise what we want to do.

He did a great job. He cut all the bluestone by hand! I'm definitely getting him back to do some work in the backyard.

he had to do them that way as the path gently slopes to allow for drainage etc. I think it looks pretty good too

Ordered the edging plants from the nursery today as they were on special and didn't want to miss out as I needed 38 of them. Hopefully planting them this weekend - pending the rain holds back.

Yep, they're bluestone pavers. I planted the edging plants today. Just a couple more plants to do tomorrow then last thing will be the mulching.

I used Dianella Petite Marie (tiny grass type plants) that will only grow to 25cm as I didn't want anything large there. I'll share some pics tomorrow once all the plants are in.

More pics - we are so close to finished

Plants placed along the edge of the paving and additional Nandinas run along the drive to continue the other Nandina border. A little baby sized Lomandra Like Tuff in near the retaining wall - it looks so small compared to the others ? I know that it will grow quickly as that was the size of the other ones when I planted them 14 months ago! Excuse the mess, I hadn't put some tools and the hose away yet.

Well done with the planting HA. Looks good. What type of soil do you have there generally? Ours is 'clay-ey' which I think is not great when it comes to planting because the soil doesn't drain well. I'm sure people get around that though, with good plant choices. A couple of plants I've been looking at for the backyard (not immediately, because that's awhile off) say 'well drained soil.' Not sure if that means just to not use them or maybe dig out some of the clay dirt and mix some better stuff in. Obviously can't do that everywhere, but in certain spots.

We have a very heavy clay soil. When I dug the holes for the plants I dug them a little bigger than required and then filled around the plant with purchased soil. I've found that works well as the new plants have something soft to initially grow into. That method hasn't failed me yet. The remaining purchased soil I just spread on top to neaten it up before I spread mulch. Otherwise it look like a sea of orange clay!

Weekend weather has been terrible. Hopefully we have a dry day next weekend so I can get the mulch. On the plus side at least I could focus on cleaning inside the house today LOL.
